| Please accept my heartfelt condolences for you loss. I have always felt "big love big loss" inevitably. But soooo worth it. I had a husky for 12 years, a ferret for 7 years and now I have my lil yorkie(Gizmo). I do think there is a grieving period that is essential in recovering from your loss. It's a personal matter for each of us. I didn't wait long myself, 3 months, because I had a lot of love to give and I knew there was an animal companion waiting for that love. The best way for me to heal was to start loving..again. May God fill your heart with peace and open it to the arrival of you new animal companion. Blessings, Melimar |

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I'm so sorry for you loss. Just think though your baby is up at the Rainbow Bridge feeling whole and young. She's playing with all of our little ones who have gone before her. And she's not in any pain.

| I am so sorry for your loss. After I lost my Teddy last year I was so devastated that I didn't think I would ever get another dog. My husband really wanted another one and it did help me a lot to get another one. I was so depressed and having my little Honey made me get up and do things because I had to because of her. I am still devastated from his loss and I wear a locket with a lock of his hair in it all the time but since then I have added another little male Ozzie to our family. We also have another dog that we had at the time we had Teddy and he grieved so much also that it helped him a lot to have some company again. Do what feels right in your heart. I am so sorry you have to go through this. |

| Sending hugs your way....and you've come to the right place. This is a wonderful site full of compassionate dog-owners who know exactly what you're going through. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this, but it sounds like you were very blessed with a sweet baby. I just posted a reply to Buddy's mom (also in the RIP forum) about this same topic of getting another furbaby. I did and my new pup Patch truly brought alot of light and joy into our lives during our beloved Chewy's last couple weeks and since then too. Please feel free to read my reply on Buddy's RIP thread. Oh, and it does get easier...time will heal the pain you're feeling. You're not alone. God bless.

| New Furbaby Well...... I did it. I adopted a new puppy and it is amazing the healing that she has brought me. I found a breeder and my sweet husband took me to see the puppies after work and I brought home Gabby. She is sweet and I know that my Gertie will always hold a special place in my heart, but Gabby has made me want to come home again. Thank you all for your support and words of wisdom, I can't find words to describe how helpful they were. I will post a picture of my little girl very soon. |

| So sorry So sorry for your loss,I think we have all gone thru it at least once, but it doesn't heal a broken heart. I had 6 and they all passed,so hard, never thought I would want another one, but then I decided I was to morbid and I needed to get another baby. I got April ,she will be the only one, but she has filled our hearts with Joy,so we gave her Joy for her middle name. We will never forget the others, but we love her so much. Everyone needs to know when their ready and you will know when your heart is so empty. |

| when I lost my lab, it was so hard - I truly know what you're going through! I had Tasha for 15 years, and I got her when I was 3 and a half years old. She died 3 days before I was able to get home for Thanksgiving break from school. There are good and bad parts to that - I didn't ever see her dead, so my only memories of her are when she was alive, but I also didn't get to say goodbye. My parents said it looked like she had a heart attack, so at least she probably didn't suffer. I feel terrible for your loss, but I know it will eventually get better and much less painful for you to bear.
