| I am so sorry for your loss. When you are ready, you will know. You will never replace your baby but to have another to love and need you may be just what is you need. Take your time and when the time is right, you will know. Hugs to you.

| I too am so sorry for your loss. I can understand your pain as I just lost my poodle that I had for 14 years. We lost Priscilla Aug. 1. I didn't want to be at home either but you see, I had made the decision to foster a year ago in July. I foster for the Oklahoma Yorkie Rescue and had to be here for my fosters. I don't know what I would have done without then and the 2 that I have adopted. There was still a huge void in the house as Priscilla was the Sr. here and welcomed every foster that I ever had with an open heart. She led them around and made them feel at home. I think you will know when it is time to get another. You will never be able to replace your baby and will remember her forever. Bless your heart as I know your heartaches. RIP little Gertie |

| I am so sorry for you loss, but you have come to the right place. Most of us have lost one of our babies, and know what you are going through. Others have given you good advise. Your heart will tell you when it is time to get another yorkie. Follow your heart.

| I am so sorry for your loss. It is very hard to lose a pet. I had a Yorkie for about two weeks and she died in my sons arms. It was so hard for my family. I did not want another dog.it was good for the kids but not me I missed my Lacey so much and still do. I felt like I was being a traitor. A puppy was given to us about a week later, I ended up sending that puppy back because she had a bone sticking out of her chest. We waited a few months and got another Yorkie that I love so much, her name is Sophie .You will find a lot of people on this site that is and will be here for you. they were here for me. I wish I COULD TAKE THE PAIN AWAY!! its up to you if you want a new puppy you have to make sure you can give to that one like you did the other one good luck I am here for you. Enlighten60 |

| So sorry to hear of your little one going to the Rainbow Bridge. I had 3 leave me in a 6 week period Jan-Feb 08. It was very hard. Cherish and keep the memories of your Gertie close to you. It may happen unexpectedly but, you will know when it is time to let another furbaby enter your life. Give yourself a little time then think about fostering for a rescue group.

| Wow I am overwhelmed with all of your words of comfort and encouragement. I have lost pets before, but this one is really different. I don't know if it was Gertie's personality and our bond, or the fact that the kids have grown and left and she stayed to fill a void. I am a professional and feel like I am just hanging on by a thread in functioning right now. Most of my coworkers would describe mew as being really strong, but this has really rocked my world. I am so glad I found this sight as it has brought me immeasurable comfort to know that there are so many caring folks that understand what I am going through. My husband has a Cairn Terrier that is a real dear but it makes me so sad to see them together right now. I feel like I did when I was pregnant with my second child and was sure I couldn't possibly love this baby as much as I did my daughter. I will heed your advice and wait for my heart to tell me the time is right. Thanks so much!!!!!! |

| I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure Ginger meant the world to you. I lost my 14 yr. old Crystal at the age of 14 back in June 2008 and sometimes I feel, I may be ready and then I know I am not. I'm getting closer to that moment for me and yet I don't think that 'when' question is something we can answer but you will know. Hugs and Prayers that your days get easier. R.I.P. sweet Ginger

| Hi; I'm so sorry you lost your baby. There is nothing that can prepare us in getting ready to lose one's precious companion, even if they're old, or sick. They always make us smile, so it's unthinkable to be able to see ourselves without the joy they bring us. I lost my bunny Mimi in June (I had her for 6 yrs); she was so healthy and all of a sudden got a tooth infection and because of her liver and kidney values and her size (she was about 1 lb and 6 inches long- a Dwarf bunny) they couldn't operate to make her better, so instead I tried everything I could to see if I could make her well, when instead I had to watch her get so bad that my husband made the hard decision of putting her to sleep during a 2 day business trip. It was such a hard experience for me, because she was my baby, and nothing or no-one could understand her meaning to me, she was not just a pet that could be replaced. I cried every single night for hours, this lasted about a month and a half, and then I thought of getting the puppy I had wanted to get for years. I found Chloe, and everything has turned bright again for me. She does not erase the pain I felt for Mimi, nor the memories, but she does fill the void and emptyness I felt when my home was empty without my little Mimi. I believe a new puppy will help you cope through this experience, and re-live all of the wonderful , beautiful moments you hd with your little one. I hope you find peace in knowing she will always be your little girl, and I'm sure no one else could have given her a happier, better life than you did.
