Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Praying for you through all this. I am so sorry, I pray that God will give you comfort in all that you have and are enduring at this time. One day you will hold Max again, God's promise, HEAVEN IS FOREVER. Cyotes are so very sneaky, seen them in our yard many a night. This summer a Bob Cat up on its hind legs getting the fruit off our trees..... came in couple cyotes, chased the Bob Cat over the chain link fence (6 ft. chain link fence) he scaled that fence in a flash. Cyotes aren't fearful of anything, if their close enough a pet is in danger even if it's on a leash. We are keeping you in our prayers. Sincerely, Patti and Jack |

| I'm so sorry My parents live in the country with woods surrounding the house and there are coyotes around there. I've gone outside at night before with Lacy and saw one across the yard...scared me to death. And one night by dad went outside with Rylie (their yorkie) and there was a coyote in the woods and Rylie took off out there and my dad yelled at Rylie to come back and luckily he stopped and came back to my dad. If he hadn't, he would have probably had the same fate as Max My parents are pretty good about taking him out on a leash at night now, although my dad will still occasionally still let him out without one. I'm going to tell them what happened to Max so hopefully they'll be sure to always take him out on a leash in the dark

| Thank you everyone - your thoughts and prayers are lifting me up. The sad thing is, I was outside with him when this happened and even if he was on his leash, it was one of those that extend, which would not have saved him as the coyote attacked him right in front of me just a few feet away. I have always been outside with him by his side, watching out for owls or hawks, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a coyote would attack. They have always been far away out in the fields. I never thought I could cry so much - he wasn't "just a dog" he was a loving companion, friend and did everything with me and my husband - my husband, who did not want another dog after all our children left home, is completely broken and devastated - he had prostrate cancer 2 years ago, and Max would not leave his side after his surgery. He truly lived up to his name - Maximus after the Gladiator! His memory gives me comfort. Thank you all for helping me through my grief. Jackie |
