| I got Jazzie in a pet store who shipped her in from a kennel in Kansas. Since then we have been educated about puppie mills. Jewel came from a breeder in Irvine. We visited their home and met the parents and all her sisters! She came from a litter of 4 girls. Jewel was the largest puppy and she chose us! She was the only pup to come to us and play with us. Her sisters stay huddled in their bed. Jewel may have been the largest pup but she is only 4 pounds! I heard her sister is 2.5 pounds!

| My first yorkie Lacey came from a pet store. My parents made a hasty last minute decision on a dog. They did not even plan on getting a yorkie. They just saw her playing in the cage with her brother and fell in love. They did not know about almost all pet store dogs coming from puppy mills. Lacey was healthy though so we were lucky. And we raised her for 13 and half years until her death from kidney failure in June 2005. My new yorkie puppy Chloe is now 10 weeks old. I was grieving heavily after losing Lacey and knew I wanted another yorkie. I searched for almost 4 months. None in our local paper and knew I was not going to buy from a pet store. I started seaching the internet. And found this site called Louisiana Classifieds. Searched it at least 5 times a day. Hardly any yorkies were advertised and when they were it was too far away in another part of the state. I really wanted my yorkie puppy home by Christmas. In October, I ran across an ad online on Louisiana Classifieds about yorkies due in December. The breeder lived in Thibodaux, only 5 miles away from where I lived! So, I immediatly called her. But, my mom had a budget of only $650. She was selling her females for $950. And one female if any were produced was already guaranteed to her daughter. Second female was promised to the lady who provided the stud. So, I knew our chances were very low. She would have to produce 3 females in order for us to get one. But, my mom and I drove out there anyway to meet the breeder and the soon to be yorkie mom. I knew in my heart that one of her puppies was meant for us. I had to do a lot of convincing with my mom because she thought $950 was out the question. But, after lots of begging like a little kid, she caved in. Well, on December 28th, we got an e-mail from our breeder. The puppies were born. 2 females and 1 male. Our breeder sadly sad she was sorry but the puppies were sold, but she was going to keep lookout for any other yorkies for sale in the local area. Because of the fact that only 2 females were born, one went to her daughter and the lady who owned the daddy was buying the other female. And the male was sold to another lady as well. As soon as I read the e-mail, I cried for about a half hour. And went back to my yorkie search, heartbroken. Then, about 2 weeks later, our breeder called. The lady who owned the daddy backed out on buying the other female. She had hurricane damage to her home and did not have time for a puppy after all. So, the breeder says if you put down a deposit as soon as possible, she is yours. My mom and I went over that evening. I almost cried as I saw the puppies for the first time. It just felt so right. They were only 9 days old. Of course, my mom gave her the deposit to hold her until she could come home. Tell me if things don't have their way of working out! That is my story of how I got Chloe Cheyenne! She is now 10 weeks old and I love her so much that I can't describe it! My dream of being a yorkie mommy again came true! Thanks to all you YT for all your love and support during my time of grief over Lacey and during my search for Chloe!

| New Puppy I just got a new yorkie puppy a couple of days ago. I haven't decided on a name yet but he is 8 1/2 weeks old and weighs 1.2 lbs. He is the tiniest little puppy I've ever seen and oh so sweet. I was raised in the midwest but now live in the south. I was having a hard time finding a new puppy down here and considered making a trip back home to Nebraska to find one. I finally found a breeder in Alabama who had several males for sale. I paid $900 for him but that's pretty reasonable for a yorkie of his size. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get some downloaded. |

| I purchased my Joie from a breeder (Cute and Cuddly Kennels) in Vienna, Missouri. I brought her home on the 2nd of March at 8 weeks old and at 1 lb. I took her to my vet on the 4th of March and he said she was infested with ear mites and a little dehydrated. He wanted me to feed and water her every two hours which I did. I even bought supplemental milk and NutriCal and fed her as much as she would eat as often as she would eat and drink. By Tuesday night she was just not right so I called the vet first thing Wednesday morning and he had me bring her right in. To make a long story short, I had to have her put to sleep that day. I was devestated and when I went to talk to the breeder, I was told that she would take all the paperwork I had brought her and have her vet check it out. The following Monday, I called her and her vet told her that based on the paperwork I gave her, it was my neglegence that caused her death and I had starved her to death. Since she was not responsible, even though I only had the dog less than a week, and she still weighed a pound when I took her on the Wednesday, she would neither replace the puppy or refund my money, which was considerable. If any of you are even contemplating purchasing a puppy from this breeder, or if you know someone who is, PLEASE, PLEASE think twice. I miss my little girl terribly, and am looking forward to when this is settled and I can start looking for another little girl to bring home. |

| I'm so sorry I'm so sorry to hear about the ordeal you had to go through. I'm sure it was devastating. It doesn't take long to get attached to them. My Dylan has had a rough start also. I picked him up at 8 weeks old and he weighed 1.2 lbs. I took him to my vet to get checked out within the 48 hours specified by the breeder. The vet was concerned about him because the puppy had coccidia (a parasite in the intestines) and he was so little. The vet said that I must make sure that he eats and stays hydrated. I spoon feed him and force him to take water through a syringe. He had to be treated twice for the coccidia but I think he has finally passed all of them. I have had him for 3 weeks and he has only gained .1 lb (1.6 oz). He's seems to feel pretty good though and is very energetic since he is over the cociddia. He also had a reaction to his first booster shot and got a huge lump on his neck several days after the shot. I had to run him back to the vet. I was sure he had a tumor or his gland was rampant with infection. I was so relieved that it was just from the shot and should go away on its own. Are you filing a suit against the breeder? Does the vet know what was wrong with you little Joie? I hope that you can get this resolved and find another wonderful, healthy yorkie puppy. I have found out that most breeders will not place the small yorkies like ours until they are at least 12 weeks old. I think this really helps to ensure that they are more stable and healthy. Dylan and I will keep you and Joie in our prayers. |

| I know this might be a far drive, however, my mother just recently moved to Rockville, Indiana and she breeds Yorkies. My little man weighs 3 lb 2 oz and is 7 months old. He is fantastic. I can give your email or phone to my mother if you are interested and would like to speak with her. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Gracie came from a breeder in Houston. She was bottle fed cause mom died when she was just a couple of days old. Rebel came from a terrible person in Hallettsville. I'm still pi$$ed at that one. London was home grown. She's out of Gracie and a stud named Tyson.

| I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with the Attorney General. So far, the only one moving along is the BBB; anything with the State takes forever. After I try to get some resolution from them, if it doesn't work, then I will file a suit against her and see what happens then. I am hoping to resolve this without having to go to Court, but I will if it comes to that. I followed the terms of her contract to the letter, and then some. The only problem could be that in her contract, "all" she has to do is replace the puppy, and after what I have gone through with her, I really don't want another puppy from her. So we will see. I wanted a Yorkie so very bad, and she seemed so perfect for me. I fell in love with her the minute I laid eyes on her, she just touched my soul, and then she was gone...I know there was a reason she came into my life and then left it in such a short period of time, and it will bring something good... |
