| similar thing happened to me, I was at a Marshalls store. In my case the lady was all dolled up. She was talking to someone about the dog and as I passed by I told my husband "look how cute her dog is", " how old is she?", she totally ignored me., (it was as yorkie). I guess she was too important to talk to people. I agree with another poster, seeing a dog in a store is not as common as seeing a child, so the dog will be looked at and commented on. If you don't like to then don't take it out. |

| Some people are just nasty! You met one at the fair. I love your hubby's response. That would have been mine too I went to the pet store without Buddy yesterday for some snacks and there was a beautiful 4lb female I played with . Her owner was nice. Just looking at this pup I can't imagine how in the heck Buddy got to be soooooooooooooo big. It just drives me bonkers at times. He looks exactally like all the little ones but just gigainticer Not sure if that's a word or not but it is now. I have no idea why some people are just plain rude. |

Once I was at a Best Buy register the lady in front of us had a little dog (literally) inside her purse, not a pet carrier. She obviously sneaked it in. So after that once we had Nikki (rest in peace) with us and we were on our way back from the vets, we stopped at Best Buy. I started to get off the car and my husband told me you can't go in with her. I told him, yes remember the lady we saw. So my husband went ahead with my son and I was carrying Nikki in my hands, the man at the door told me "no dogs allowed". I got so angry and I replied, "well I guess I'll take my business elsewhere" and went and sat in the car until my husband and son came out. I thought since I had seen a lady there before it was OK. Obviously she had snuck the dog in. After that day, I only take my dogs to pet stores..

| Awe what a nasty woman! I feel sorry for her Yorkie poor thing to have to put up with a nasty human! I will never forget the first time I took Harley to PetSmart, I had just got him the day before and I was checking out pet food. This lady approached me and said "If your looking for a great food for your Yorkie I use Royal Canine, its the best". I was like "Wow ok thanks!" Then she asks how much I paid for my Yorkie and how she paid $2000 for her and how BEAUTIFUL her Yorkies hair was, NOT at all Like MY Yorkies hair! I was flabbergasted, like does she even know how incredibly snobbish and rude she is coming off? Ugh, some people!

| I hate it when people are rude like that! I used to compliment people's dogs in PetSmart, but I quit for the most part because of the attitude people can have sometimes. I had a incident with someone the other day and became one of those 'rude people.' We had some people walking down the street the other day while we had Lexi out in the yard the other day. The lady stopped and said, "Is that a Yorkie?" I nodded and with a look of horror she said, "I think that is the biggest Yorkie I have ever seen!" This caught me off guard and touched a nerve so I snapped back, "Well, she's only 6 pounds, so you can't have seen very many Yorkies in your life then." She looked at me, and rudely said, "Well, I guess I'm just used to seeing the teacup Yorkies." I said, "Well seeing as there really is no such thing, I bet that is really a sight." She kept walking. |

I know people try to show off they have "Teacups" I tell them ohh you mean they got a little runt, you have to be very careful with those. --- Not that tiny ones aren't beautiful my Toby is only 2 pounds. But I don't like show offs or encouraging people mis labeling Yorkies....teacup....big (standard)...etc. Last edited by a_jgonzalez; 10-10-2007 at 12:57 PM. Reason: typo

| Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | She was using that poor baby to advance her snobbery! Can you imagine actually living with someone like that? Quote:
. Took Abigail into the Post Office a few weeks ago (btw, was told "we just can't have dogs in here"), and a lady in line started a conversation. She complimented Abbie, saying her daughter has "one half that size".

| People can be so rude!!! I was at the mall one day and this lady had her little Maltese in her doggie stroller. My son went running up to the lady and the little dog. My son & I commented on how cute her dog was and then my little boy said, "we have a Yorkie". Then OMG.......she said, "oh, those are those little yappy dogs" and "aren't they very moody too?" OMG, I just about hit her!!!!! That was the rudest thing she could of said. My little boy stood there trying to explain that our Yorkie rarely barks and he is the sweetest thing ever.....I just grabbed his arm and walked away. I said as loud as I could, "THAT LADY IS VERY RUDE....YOU DON'T NEED TO EXPLAIN ANYTHNG TO IGNORANT PEOPLE!" Wasn't that so rude of her? Grrrrrrr!!!

| Wow, is all I can say.You were only being nice to her! I could understand if you were asking personal questions like what her address was and if you could go see her at her house! lol Then that would be freaky and I would answer rude also. But geeze!!! You gave her a compliment on her furbaby.I dont understand sometimes why some yorkie owners DONT give out breeder info about where their yorkie came from.If they are afraid of you being a bad owner that is up to the breeder to decide honestly. I think my husband would have told her something also.lol Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |
