| ![]() I think someone here called the long cut "elegant". I would agree with that. The puppy cut looks "cute". Just depends on what you like or what you can care for. I also agree that the puppy cut keeps them eternally a puppy!!!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() I like the short cut on bengi. Not only is more practical, I just like it better on him, I think it makes him looks more like a puppy even though he is 18 months old. Personally I think the very long cut (not really a cut, lol ) makes them look older. Still they look beautiful! but I prefer short ![]() |

| ![]() I like both, I woulden't say mine are in puppy cuts or very long, somewhere in between. Just depends on the yorkie and owner, I don't think one is better than the other. |

If this was just an appearance thing, I'd cut you some slack. But to say you "can't ever understand getting one" without long hair shows me you have a different opinion of what a dog is than I do. To me, the beauty of the breed is its spirit and temperment and its intelligence. It could be bald for all I care.

breed traits as why we chose these wonderful little family extentions... I have 2 Yorkies and 2 Biewers and live in Arizona where it gets as high as 120 degree's some days in the summer. Do I seriously need to say more?? More than appearance I am all about my furkids comfort, happiness and over all well being. To say the word detrimental is being very closed minded to the reasons many people choose or need to have their kids in certain cuts. Long or short coat neither in my opinion is a wrong choice. I have seen yorkies in full coat that are absolutely stunning and I have also seen ones that looked like walking swamp monsters. Like Marci I take great offense to this post...When you look at my kids you see robust, happy and most importantly loved and well cared for extentions of my family. If all they lack is coat then my friend as Mike said you are missing the point of having a companion animal in the first place. I can respect your personal likes or dislikes but then I believe you also need to show that same courtesy in return and find a better choice of words perhaps when portraying your feelings. There were much kinder ways to see how other people felt with out basically insulting any one that chooses to go the puppy cut route.

| ![]() We all have preferences. Long show dog look, to the simple puppy cut and reasons why we chose the cut we do. I am probably going to go with the puppy cut so I can take Sassy for long walks in the woods. There is so much in the woods that can tangle her hair for me the puppy cut is just the most feasible. Plus I am disabled and not able to hold her to settle her to have her hair groomed daily. It wears me out just trying to get her settled. By then I am to tired to groom. I wanted to pose this question to you: If your yorkie's hair all fell out would you love her any less? I bet every one of you said no, so in reality it doesn't matter. I embrass all cuts but could care less if she has hair so long it flows down the hall or none what so ever. It's the personality of this little breed that attracted me to them. |

| ![]() OK OK...it was poorly worded. It's all based on opinion of course, but that's always the case. Anyhow, the puppy I'm getting today is in a puppy cut.... |

![]() ![]() ![]() And by the way, I don't care what ANYONE says...you don't have to be BLIND to see that Jack and Eddie are total STUDS! They could be sporting purple mohawks and would still be the coolest dudes around - and that's the TRUTH!

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | ![]() Though the long, full coat is my preference - I think it depends on the dog and his/her hair. Like people, some are just not suited to long hair, so are more attractive in shorter cuts. And, for those Yorkies who have nice silk coats, it would be almost a sin to cut those. JMO
