Default competition???

I am definately not afraid of chocolates! YTCa has voted them out of showing, therefore, AKC shows cannot accept them either. I am not worried about UKC shows either. I wonder who the judge was that put up the chocolate, which is not within the UKC standard? He/she must not have been very knowlegable about the standard and should has been dq'd. I am not saying the dog isnt pretty, as she is. She is just not the standard and this color should not be bred. I will say congrats on Kelly for having the guts to show her!!!! You did well. Lynn

If the Judge allowed Carmella I say great and She is a Beauty.

If any one has a problem letting The (off colors) show I think they should take it up with the Judge

I really dont think competition is what their worried about, Their worried about so many others breeding out of the standard that so many have fought so hard to keep the standard and making it as standard as one can. and you have so many breeding off colors and soon there will be not many going by the standards, and that really is some thing to worry about.

I dont NOT agree with them because it is happening. but I think there is a place and time to post those opinions and its shouldnt be done on someones brag thread.

Where do you think judges for AKC and Canadian Kennel Club shows get their education? Never mind I'll answer that, from the parent breed clubs where long time well known show breeders will speak at judging seminars about their breed and will help aspiring judges interpret the breed standard.
If judges want to get hired for dog shows by any club putting on the show they better know the standard for each breed they are going to judge and how to interpret that standard.
A judge that makes a big mistake will be challenged on it.

I didn't think you was trying to argue, but some members do come on and do just that. I understand you wanted to keep the standard.and I'm not trying to argue either. I too love the standard.

But if they let the choc show and the judge didn't have a problem with it then why is everyone questioning her about it? Theres other threads that are about other colors those are the threads to post your opinions on, Let her have her brag thread and let it be clear of others opinions on the colors thats all im trying to say. I just hate seeing every time a differentv color is brought up that the threads turn bad. cant we just say congrats.
Thank you for the compliment and to be frankly honest I can't in good conscience congratulate a win when they and I both know it was done on purpose and not within the standard. I would voice my opinion/concerns to a show breeder/exhibitor of any kind not just someone that shows a chocolate. I only commented when I saw others comment towards the standard. If all this person got was congratulations I would have kept my big mouth shut LOL If someone wants a title on a yorkie that is not within the standard they should be trying obedience or agility because color doesn't matter. I get just as much frustrated with a judge who doesn't judge within the standard the way it is written but with AKC rules I can't approach a judge and give my opinion in fear of a bench committee being called so therefore all I can do is find the AKC rep and voice my concerns that way. This is however, a public fourm and I will always try and keep my comments in a positive light. Education is of the utmost importance and if I don't at least try then I haven't done my job

Thanks for your honesty, keeping your comments in a positive light is great, That's the way we should all voice our opinions. nothing wrong with that at all. And a lot of us get more educated by these post. My post was not about any thing that you had posted, It was about the other post that someone voiced their opinion in that was worded and would only start trouble. I did say we should all just congratulate her on her win, but if you feel you cant then that's ok to this is an open forum. I just don't like seeing them closed .and dont like people having their feelings hurt.

I know nothing was directed at me but we do get passionate about this breed and what is being represented in the ring today! LOL Again, this is an open forum and feelings will get hurt unforntuately, we all get frustrated when something less than the breed standard is in the ring I've stated my opinion LOL and I know I've stated all I can on this subject so I will let this one die LOL I am here only to educate and hope that our wonderful breed doesn't get hurt in the long run. Unfortunately some won't agree with what I believe and continue to breed outside the standard. Enough of my soapbox LOL

[QUOTE=YorkieShadow;1390414]Wow thats a little harsh, If you dont have nothing nice to say on her thread then why post at all? why does all these threads have to turn out like this.

They turn out this way because some people dont know how to just be happy for someone...they feel threatned for some reason. THe chocolates will have their own standards different from the standard yorkie color...plus opinions are like buttholes...everyone has one some just stink more than others
