Wow - this thread has really gotten out of hand. It's one thing to have a debate and to get a little heated - that's fine - but this has gotten out of control. I'm sure as soon as ADMIN sees this thread it will be closed

BTW - TXshopper - everytime I see you post I want to tell you how pretty the dog in your avitar is! Very pretty

im not discussing this with anyone that doesnt have an open mind i have my ideas and they have theres its america thats why were in america we have the right to stand up challenge and dissagree with rules and laws even from kennel clubs

Ah, thank you! London is such a sweet & crazy girl!

Anyhoo...just wanted to let everyone know that all is copasetic again. There was a misunderstanding and we've managed to work it out...like grown ladies do.:D

I do still believe that this thread was a set up by the OP and I pretty much stated that in post #151, #157 and #163. (also wanted to add that many feel this same way...go back to AT LEAST page 11)

Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No problem with that at all, and I have no problem with debates. But certain people in this thread have been very rude and that's what has caused it to get out of hand

its crazy the way it has gotten out of hand like this...i wish everyone could just be happy for her..all she wanted was to experience what it was like to be in the ring...she would love for her babies to have their own standard...shes working on it... she doesnt want them to replace the standard yorkie or anything...she had alot of fun and her pups really did a very good job..they looked very good out there..

Aw, her name is London! That is what I've planned to name my next yorkie for the past two years! I probably won't get my London for a few more years though :( But one day...

well if everyone had always done that then there wouldnt even be any yorkies cause they are made up of about 7 breeds somebody didnt follow the rules and look what you are so proud of now? got a remark for that one?

I dont understand why all the "designer" color yorkie breeders are so hell bent on changing the standard.? I dont believe the YTCA, with all its dedicated, responsible, dyed in the wool Yorkie exhibitors/breeders as members will ever accept other colors other than steel blue/shaded tan. I dont think that the YTCA can easily be persuaded to change the standard.

It's not that people aren't happy for her. It's that people don't agree with breeding faulted colors and don't agree with trying to show a faulted color. What's gotten out of hand is how some are choosing to word their posts...

noone is trying to change the normal standard as far as i know. but i can only speak for shannette...she would like them to have their own standard seperate from standard yorkies

Didn't this thread just start out as someone announcing GREAT news about their fur baby?

CONGRATULATIONS on the win!

At the end of the day, something positive has happened, and we should try to be happy about that...rather than focus on something so negative. I know that this is an open forum and I definately believe in freedom of speech..but at some point you have to stop taking this stuff so seriously.

never asked for standard to be changed just want recognition for the dog i like that came from same lines

Acctually it has been realized now that this post was a set up to get the heat off the OP and on someone else...but yea it was SUPPOSE to be a congratulations post also...

:thumbup: I agree with you 100%. It was nice to hear everyones opinions but I guess some people took this thread the wrong way. Ihope the talk about chocolates die down for a while... And I also hope people took something positive from this thread... I'm a positive person and I don't know why!:p

HAD YOUR BREEDER BEEN HONEST in her original post, this thread would not be where it is now and you and kelly wouldnt be continuing to beat a DEAD HORSE or baiting people to respond to you!

The Yorkshire Terrier originated 200 years ago. Have you read the breed history? These poor people couldn't own larger dogs by law to hunt so they kept these little dogs to hunt small game like rabbits, and they were also used as ratters. It wasn't even a breed back then. Once it became a breed, a standard was set and breeders began to breed them with a goal in mind which is why we have the yorkshire terrier of today. There is a very specific standard written for the yorkshire terrier.

i did not win actually i was just allowed to show and gave a second place ribbon because coat was of wrong color

what in the world are you talking about?? noone is bating anyone? im simply defending her...the OP is not my breeder...she is shannettes...she set her up for this and left her to fight this alone...
and all the argueing was done as far as i was concerned..things were just going back to normal until u put your 2 cents in

i dont see what the coat color has to do with size and goal the liver and choc can do the same things thats not an impressive remark to me sorry

Yes, it took a few breeds to create the Yorkie as we know it today. Most of the breeds used to create this breed are now extinct. If it werent for the dedicated Yorkie breeders that kept records and stuck to the breeding program, we would not have the present day Yorkie.

i have said goodnight several times and the remarks keep coming they are not from kelly either they are from peoplelike lorraine who just dont get it that i care more about gettin my chocs out there and exposed as a great breed than i do about her yorki standard in some book

Well, the goal of those breeders was to breed a steel blue and tan dog. There is absolutely no mention of chocolate or liver in the breed standard - until recently anyway. They just added to the standard, which specifically says that chocolates and livers are a disqualification.

Its soooo good to see that someone on here isnt still trying to fuss and fight..its getting old...she did something that made her feel good and her pups had fun..i wish everyone could be happy for her..

well someone didnt get it right somewhere if these chocs and livers keep showing up in some of the best show lines now have they
