i agree...she already seemed to have gave up... and shes still not saying anything about the "proof" either..

sorry if this sounds mean but you really dont seem like you want to get her back.. all i hear is whining ... so you say you do have the papers? well then thats proof shes YOUR dog.. get the police involved or whatever, march over there and get her back!! seriously if i were in your shoes i would HONESTLY sneak there, break their window and get MY DOG back!! im not trying to promote breaking into someone's house but that is what i would do if nothing else worked. you said so yourself that this dog is mistreated.. they didnt keep to their end of the deal so WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??

To make a long story short - Because I was so insulted with the offer for $200 I simply made them promise to take good care of her and gave her to them for Free!! because of the whole living situation I really had no choice, my mom wanted her out and out now.

The story honestly goes just as I said it, it still upsets me that my mom would do such a thing to me. To this day she and I have not talked at all!!

I moved out, got my own place, and I am still so broken over my dog. I desperately want her back so badly. I saw an inappropriate picture of my Butters with one of their sons on his page today. That is what prompted me to write this, because I am so upset over that and more so at myself for making the biggest mistake on Butters behalf.

I am just praying to the Lord that somehow I can get her back. I wrote the relatives today and told them that I desperately want my dog back, that I would do whatever it takes pay however much to have her back with me. I know that they're not taking good care of her like they promised me they would.

I started looking for another puppy but no I just simply can't go on without at least trying to get Butters back.

i dont understand your post, you say your mum gave her away, the family offered money but you said they could keep her and they posted a pic of the dog.
ok its your dog you have the paperwork, your mum had no right to do what she did, what do you mean by the pic they posted?
where did they post it? was it on here?
maybe you should of asked the family if they could foster the yorkie for you untill you had your own place?
take them to court.

That is your dog!!! You paid for her and picked her out!!!! If you dont talk to your mom because of the situation then why worry about talking to them. Think about your lil butters. Your mom actually stole the dog from you when you were prob going though an emotional time in your life with moving back in. How do you know that your mom didnt get a nice payment from this telling them to offer you 200.00 from what she was already being paid. Think about it all.

Maybe you could tell them that you want $1500 or $2000 whatever the amount to replace your puppy (not that he can be replaced). They at least owe you that. Chances are they won't want to pay the money and maybe you could get her back that way?

In some states verbal agreement does hold up.
And w/ proof, there is still a time frame (depending on your city and state) in which you can recover your dog using proof of ownership. For example, if two months have gone by and the dog has been put in their name and now has a vet record in their name and so on, she no longer is yours.
