I think every dog has their own unique personality and it might have nothing to do with what sex they are. I used to think that the females would be the most loving, calm ones. Some are and some are not. I have a boy that I got first and then Igot the girl when he was almost a yr old.He is the calmest ,most relaxed ,attached at the hip little dog you will ever meet! Now my girl is a different story! She is pure lightning in a 2lb body! She turns 6mo old in 8 more days! She is hyper and fiesty! She's a barker also, which I hate but can't shut her up! lol Cookie never barks when he's in the family room away from us. He just sits on couch where he can get a good view of where the family is Mimi will bark at the wind lol. Cookie started to "mark" at around 8-9 months. He had been perfect until then.I took him to get neutered and he completely stopped within a week!!! It's like they erased his memory lol ...actually his hormones lol Genie www.littlemimi.org

| I LOVE HAVING A GIRL!!!!! She is so cuddly and loving and not at all a you know what. She loves giving kisses and at 4 months is practically potty trained! I like boys too but I love my girl. It's personal preference though. She isn't aggressive, and some say boys CAN be (please nobody take offense, I'm not generalizing). She is so nurturing to my nephew and very friendly to other animals. I JUST LOVE HER!!!!

I love your idea of getting the boy and a little girl later!!! I am so excited boy how many people have affectionate loving boys. I am definitely neutering him once it is the appropriate time. I currently have 2 standard poodles that are both neutered and neither marks or lifts their leg, but I wasn't sure if it would be the same with a yorkie. You are all getting me even more excited about getting my puppy!!! Thank you for all the input. Erin

boy or girl I have both, my boy came first, never marked in the house is not nutured, has a sweet personality and is always in a good mood, never has done anything to anyone, not ever, sweetest little guy, then we got little girl, if I was to describe thier personalities as tho they were cars,he is a ford mustang, little convertable.fun to be around...she is a harley-davidson motorscycle, big loud, bossy and against all rules of the establishment,he weighs four sweet lbs she weight 3 sassylbs shows teeth, she is the cutest,he is the nicest..so it depends what you are looking for ...she is always confronting him biteing his mouth,he looks at us as if to say "get her off me",then she cuddles up as if all should be forgiven..they are differant, she is my second female, both have "little ..tch attitudes' when they want to

i have 2 females (one being a maltese and the other a yorkie), and i have 1 male he's a yorkie/pomeranian I do have to agree that they each have their own different personalities. I love all my kiddies! I got Oreo first, and he's just a doll! He's the sweetest little man ever. I do find it funny how Oreo will always be a momma's boy and Ginger will be a Daddy's Girl and My Maltese Cloey Loves both of us! Lol.. But i've heard that boy dogs will Be in love with you and Girl dogs will love you. or something like that I do like my girls because i get to dress them up, but i dress Oreo up as well in boy clothes so it's not all that bad But just get 1 of each! lol.. i'm looking for another boy so that way it'll be dead even lol with whatever gender you choose, best of luck!

I think it all depends on the yorkie, how you train them, and their personality, etc.

| I vote girl! Well, might be because I have a girl . When I first knew I was getting a Yorkie, I immediately thought it'd be a boy, but my boyfriend and I have another boy dog (a much bigger one) and we were afraid that he would act adversely towards another boy dog so my boyfriend said it had to be a girl dog. And I am so happy that's how things turned out. I love that I can dress Bella up in cute girly outfits and put pink on her because that's my favorite color and she looks great in it! Also, now that I go to the parks a lot, I feel a little embarrassed for the people with the horny dogs that go around humping not only other dogs but also people's legs! Also, I don't have to worry about Bella lifting her leg on me or at the wrong places. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE ALL dogs, but for me, the female one was the better fit.

I do have to admit I love the idea of having a boy and a girl!!!! I am so grateful for you sharing about your boy and girl. I definitely want all the cuddles and love : o ) We have 2 standard poodles right now (Beau & Jackson) and they love their Daddy so much...I get so jealous!! How long did it take you to potty train your little boy? Erin

I got oreo at 7 1/2 weeks old.. and he was already fully potty-trained at 10 weeks.. but when i brought another dog in the house the potty scheduling/training went out the door lol.. but with all three they are all potty-trained (thank god! ) my boy was the quickest to be potty-trained.. ginger took quite some time and cloey is i'd say about 85% pottytrained. it's cute when she thinks she's on the wee-pad.. her front paws are and her back paws aren't so she misses

Deyna, Tell me all your secrets!!! How did you train Oreo so fast?! Which wee-pads do you use? Did you try to train them to go outside or are the pads just easier? Erin
