| Very informative posts.. Despite some things [negative] regarding Eukanuba, I have Daisy on it since day 1. It works for her, the vet reassures it's quality and that's all that matters for us. Daisy has always been more of a picky eater and will tire of a flavor quickly. SO I've learned to keep up with her by switching flavors of the wet food periodically. What I do is basically mix a spoonful of wet food (Cesar's) with a few scoops of dry food together..2-3 times a day. I found (at Target) a NEW flavor which she is loving - at the moment atleast- from Cesar's..Cesar's Gourmet Filets in Sauce!!! Try it!!

| My dogs are very finicky eaters and do the same thing... the bad food to them is like McDonalds to a kid... they LOVE it... but its not good for them. I started my dogs on Royal Canin. They LOVE it!!! Its pricey though ($25 for 10lbs) but I have not had any problems with them eating at all.. and no poop or throw up problems since switching either. They were on Nutromax mini chunk previous to that and liked it a lot but I read it was not a good food. Im thinking of going to Canidae if I can find it around here... I think its a TAD bit cheaper and just as good for them!

When I first got Abby they gave me a bag of Purina, but I didnt think it was very good. I switched to Eukanuba and I love it AND she loves it. She's 5 months now and thats all she eats, and she never has any problems, healthwise, or tastewise. I love it.

| Zoey is the same way. She likes Purina Puppy Chow. I guess it is like junk food for dogs. It must taste good like fast food to us. Im home cooking now for her picky little butt.

| Bruce was once very finicky and only wanted home cooked food or what I would consider crap foods...I talked to my vet and we gradually started blending in Innova with the crap kibble. When we completely switched over he stopped eating...I talked to my vet, and basically the info I got is that a dog will not starve themselves, they will hold out for something better but not starve themselves so if you do not give them other food they will not eat it...I obviously got worried about the blood sugar issues, etc of trying to win a contest of wills with him, so I mixed his kibble with Natures Variety raw medallions and he LOVES THEM, and they are nutritious!

| I would suggest that you put "rendering plants usa" in a google search to read about animal by-products and what they are. It will open your eyes to this dirty little secret. Everyone seems to be very passionate about what they feed their babies and this food debate never ends. Just educate yourself and feed whatever you think is best for your furbabies..They depend on us to give them the best food and will have to eat whatever we feed them...they don't have a choice really so it is our responsibility to provide their nutritionaly needs. I still have free samples available to anyone who want to try the Life's Abundance All Natural Dog Food (no corn, no wheat or soy and no by-products of any kind). My girls LOVE it and they were the pickiest eaters out there! |

| On behalf of Eukanuba... Beau isn't a picky eater...in fact he will eat anything that touches the floor before you even knew it was there! I had him on a more expensive dog food that was reccomended to me by our animal supply store (normally very reliable!) and he started to lick his feet and throw up a LOT! I brought him to the vet and he said that the food wasn't settling good with him so we tried Purina...which he loved...but he started throwing up even MORE!! So then we tried Eukanuba, and again, he LOVED it, but this time he stopped biting his feet and he doesn't throw up anymore! To keep it interesting, I mix wet dog food in with his dry food at night. He loves it and so do I!!!!

| I have always bought the best dog foods for my dogs. My schnauzers are on Welliness and Innova and my little yorkie is on Eukanuba puppy bites and Innova puppy food. (wet) I mix hers together and she loves it. We have a teacher at our church that has a springer spaniel that eats nothing but Alpo and she just recently had to put her down at the age of 22. Go figure. I sometimes think its what they do the best on even if it might have byproducts in it. I have always tried to feed something that didn't have the byproducts but who knows. |
