| ![]() hahaha! sounds like the typical yorkie! naughty... ![]() Daisy def knows her name..I think you just have to constantly say it and eventually she'll catch on. Call her name in a high pitch voice and maybe acted excited about it too. "Zoey, come here...Zoey!.." I think they DO think it's a game when you go and try to pick them up..it's a puppy thing..hehe

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Mine is six, and I have to give her a treat to get her to come to me to take out to go potty before bed! By now, I think she just expects it, but she has a definite mind of her own! She does not come when she is called, and we have worked and worked on it. She may try to jump up on the chair, but if she doesn't make it, and I lean over to pick her up, she backs away! I have never scolded her. I praise her all the time, and I give her lots of love, but she does what she pleases. She is potty trained and she will sit, roll over, play dead, dance, and shake hands. ![]()

| ![]() Bella usually comes to me. I have a plastic ex pen outside for her to play in. I had planned on buying another one to make it bigger for her but my sil's bil -l- gave us one. (I knew he liked her! ![]() ![]() Anyways, the other night and this morning, she got the zoomies and just ran circles around me. Took forever to catch her and this morning, I was almost late to work. The naughty lil girl. ![]()

| ![]() I agree. Max is over a year old and still doesn't get that I won't chase him. You really have to train a lot of Yorkies to "come." It's their terrier nature to run and play chase me. Use treats, leash him in the house for a while so that you can genty pull him to you when you say"come." Then give him a treat and praise him like it was his idea. Make it fun for both of you if you can.

| ![]() I only got Tammy last October, she has just turned 4. She comes to me fine, but not when it's pee pee time ! Tara and Casper come and are waiting at the door, but Tammy takes off, and I have to chase her....she either hides behind my hubby or skunks flat on the floor or on as chair and goes all CHEESEY, and shows me her belly and cheesey face, while lying as flat and inconspicuous on her side as she can ! It's quiet funny, so I crawl up to her asking her if she is cheesey, and she gets even more silly ! Haven't got a pic....will get one - but you can see it a bit in the pics below. I have no idea why asking her if she wants out to do her toilet has this effect - I am dumbfoundled ! ![]() 123 Skunking pics of Tammy 4 Tammy as she is normally. |

| ![]() My Ava (7 months old) will not come when called. It doesn't matter how much I try to bribe her to come. I have learned a trick. Since we are starting puppy training classes in a few weeks, I have been practicing the sit command with a clicker and treat. If I am wanting her to come to me, all I have to say is "sit" to my other dog and say good boy. She thinks he is getting treats and will immediately stop whatever she is doing and come running.

| ![]() As you can tell, you're NOT alone. Coby is also 5 months old, and we're working on it!! I use the leash in the house technique too. I also VERY RANDOMLY use the come comand, not just when we're playing or training. I'll just get a treat and yell "Coby Come". He's learning that he'd probably better come just to see if I have a treat. I like the two leashes tied together that was in a previous reply. I'm going to try that. I have heard that you should never chase your Yorkie in play. Because then when you want him, he'll think of the game. So we don't ever chase. We do let him chase us however! I'd LOVE to read more ideas to get the Yorkies to be more dependable with the Come Command!! My daughter lives in Chicago - a very dog-friendly city (lucky her)! The other day, she passed a lady just coming out of the Walgreens on Michigan Avenue with a Yorkie at each heel. Then she realized they were OFF LEASH!! Walking in the store and down a crowded Michigan Avenue off leash........ oh to dream!!!!!!!

| ![]() You're definitely not alone. Toby does that too. He's almost 6 mos now and has done that from the start. The only time he won't run from me when I try to pick him up is when he is sleepy or when we are working on the come command and I have a treat in my hand. The way I see it is that he thinks I am trying to play with him. He sees it as playing and loves me chasing him all around the house trying to get him. And sometimes I will make it a game and he loves it! I reminds me of playing tag as a child. ![]()
