| ![]() he is very very cute!! i will say this too...as many others have said. 6/7 lbs is still VERY small. i know a lady that has a yorkie that i visited all the time while waiting for mine (they own a dance wear store and the yorkie is always there) and i could have sworn Dazzle was about 4 lbs. when i asked, they said she was 7.5 lbs!!! I argued with her and said there was NO way!! I took my pup in to see her when she was about 3 months old, weighing about 3 lbs and there was not much difference between my 3 lb pup and her 7.5 lb adult!!! i guess it depends on the body type and build of the dog..but she seemed sooooooo petite to me. maggie is now right at 5.5 lbs at 10 months old and she is teeny tiny in my opinion. i can't imagine having a smaller dog. she just got her leg broken by taking a fall about the same height as most people's couch!!!! if she were any smaller....i just can't imagine. she probably would have broken it a long time ago and probably worse!! I think you should just love him. love him immensely and let him return the love. i promise he will. you may be in a position to buy another yorkie one day...and then you can be super selective when buying one. it will be easier to say "no" next time ![]() trust me...you will get another one ![]() ![]() like i said,..just love your little guy. you will not have any regrets so long as he is healthy. i promise! what is his name???

| ![]() You could get your money back, or trade him for a smaller pup, but atleast according to you vet he's healthy. Do you love him already? If you do I'd keep him, and he'll love you in return. What's size anyway. What matters is whats inside.

| ![]() His pictures are precious! He looks so sweet and innocent. I hope you can fall in love with him...after all, he's the innocent party in this and just needs someone to cherish him and give him a wonderful life. These babies give back ten-fold what you give to them. Good luck! |

| ![]() I bought Buddy from a pet store not knowing much about anything. I just knew I loved him from the minute I set eyes on him, period. He is 15lbs and is beautiful, smart and healthy. I would not trade him for all the Yorkies in this world. I am sorry you made a mistake but why should this beautiful puppy have to pay the price for it. Enjoy your beautiful puppy and be very thankfull he is healthy. I count my blessings everyday that Buddy is healthy because I have read nightmares on YT regarding health on puppymill pups. Have you not bonded yet? That is very hard to believe. I hope you have and deceide to keep him. He is beautiful. Good luck, |

| ![]() Love all 6lbs of your new dog! That is still a tiny dog in comparison to other breeds! Im sorry I wish I could be of more assistance. Noone can GUARANTEE the full grown size of a puppy for certain... not a GREAT breeder and not a BAD puppymill breeder. I have 2 boys, one is 5lbs and one is 8lbs. My 8lb boy is sooo much easier! I don't have to worry about his fragility! My 5lb boy is so tiny with little bird bones. Im afraid Im going to hurt him by accident hes so fragile. He has a harder time doing everything also where my 8lb bigger guy does everything for himself... I hope I made you feel a little better about the size if anything. I would love to save EVERY puppy in the world from puppymills and bad breeders... but I can't. As hard as something is to do, the best thing to have done in that situation with all the questionable things the guy said to you is walk away without the puppy and find a reputable breeder that you trust. But you didnt, and you say you have a beautiful healthy happy baby boy... so at this point I would just love him to pieces and watch him grow up to be a beautiful healthy happy little man!! ![]() Good Luck!!

| ![]() Your puppy is adorable! I must admit, I'm a little disappointed to hear that you are going to find a new home for your puppy simply because he is going to be larger than what you had hoped for. Based on my research, smaller dogs have a tendancy to have more health and behavioral problems - not ALL, but many. When we bought our Maltese (from a puppy mill out of ignorance), his parents looked small; however, our dog grew to 11 pounds - WAY over the norm for a Maltese. But we loved every pound of him and gave him a great home until we lost him a couple of weeks ago. But if you don't feel that you can love him and treat him as you should because he's not what you wanted, by all means, allow someone else to give him a good life and love him regardless of his weight. |

| ![]() That's a hard one. I say if you are getting attached, definately keep him!! If you're not, find him a good home, he deserves to be with someone who thinks he is perfect. That being said, I think sometimes people get set on a dog weighing a certain amount, myself included. I have a friend who has a yorkie, and she told me 3.5 pounds was the perfect weight. I had never seen a dog that weight, I just trusted her opinion and looked for a dog that size. I ended up fallling in love with my little guy, and the breeder said he might be 3.5, but he could be 4 or more. I got him and now he's at 4.5, I love his size, but he could be bigger and that would be fine too. People remark everyday about how small he is, I can't imagine if he was smaller. I just think now I was pretty ignorant thinking I wanted one so small, not ever seeing any dogs in person that size. If you haven't already, I suggest looking at some adult yorkies in different sizes, and see if you still want one that small. Hope this helps, good luck! ![]()

| ![]() I think that with the warning signs that were there that might have alerted you that it was a puppy mill, you should have walked away from the beginning... but what's done is done now. I know that I personally could not return a puppy based on size. And since you know that this place is in fact a puppy mill, you may get a very sick small puppy, or a puppy that has been starved to stay that small, and once you get the smaller pup, it will grow just as big, if not bigger as the one you have now. No breeder can guarantee size.. but I will tell you that at 3 months Mckenzie was 1.5 lbs, and now at 5 months she's close to 3. My vet is estimating a 4 lb weight give or take... so there is still a chance she will end up small. And on another note, I have a jrt/yorkie mix who is 7.5 lbs but she is only about 2 inches different in size than my yorkie girl who is 3 lbs. It all depends on how they grow. Good luck on whatever you decide! |

You may want to give it some time and see if you will bond with him. If not, you can always rehome him. Best of luck in your decision. ![]()

| ![]() Don't beat yourself up, we have all made mistakes. Our first dog years ago came from a pet shop and I have learned so much since then and this is a real learning experience for you. He is adorable but if you know he's not for you, I would rehome him. Just one other thing before you look for another do alot of research on the health problems that can occur in the small one and the cost of vet bills. Good Luck with your decision.

| ![]() I had a baby who died at 5 months old... and he looked EXACTLY like your new pup! You gotta see this! I swear I thought I was seeing my old pup again! Weird! I wish I lived closer and had more $$, but with 2 of my own now I just couldn't swing it to get a 3rd.. plus 2 is enough for me! I only have 2 hands! and 2 heads are hard to love at the same time... nevermind 3! hehe Anyways... I also wanted to tell you... my 2 boys are brothers from the same liter. I got them from a breeder I found to be pretty reputable. Her dogs were on the premesis and I got to see the parents, the dogs were free to roam the house (all like 10 yorkies greeted me at the door) she bred JUST yorkies, and the pups were kept in a childs playpen in a room with a wood stove where they were safe, warm and loved. Her & her hubby sat in recliners in the room and held the pups often so they were socialized as well. The ONLY thing I didnt like was she CHAIN smoked in the house with all those dogs! I felt like it was not right to do that to such a bunch of tiny lungs... but anyways... the point of my story... Dexter Weight - 2.2lbs @ 9 weeks 2.8lbs @ 15 weeks 3.6lbs @ 1 year 3 months 5.0lbs @ 1 year 6 months (he had a late growth spurt, actually both my boys did! Both my boys are from the same liter) Fletcher Weight - 1.8lbs @ 9 weeks 3.5lbs @ 15 weeks 6.3lbs @ 1 year 3 months 8.5lbs @ 1 year 6 months So you never know when their spurt will hit or not and you never know truely what size they will be. Fletcher was the 2nd smallest in the liter.. and Dexter was the largest at birth. (out of 4) Here is a pic of my pup that sadly died. He was almost 5 months old when he left us. He was soooooooo ADORABLE!!! He looked just like your little guy!!!
