| ![]() I'd call animal control if there's loose animals out and about. We had that problem here, I don't think they were licensed either. Animal control took care of it. but pepper spray and a bat sounds like a good idea too. ![]()

| ![]() I have the exact same problem. And let me just say... Even the sweetest dogs can become territorial in a snap!! If I go to the left, it's a poodle, I jerked the boys up so fast I pulled Oliver's arm out of his harness. If I go right, there is a cocker spaniel that will cross the street and come onto our sidewalk, again I have to quickly pick up my 9lb and 12lb boys. They come out so quickly and it scared me to death. Luckily I have a large fenced in back yard, but Otis loves to walk so much, I know he misses it. I can't take a chance with them. I won't take a chance anymore. It's a shame we have so many irresponsible dog owners out there. Even my neighbors who I'm very close to are guilty of it.

| ![]() Oh gosh....I feel your pain. Our neighborhood is the worst....you can't go right or left.....I can barely go out in my own yard! As far as going to see the German Shephard by yourself, I'm not so sure that will work. The dog may be people friendly but dog aggressive. I often put mine in the car and head to a different neighborhood, park and sometimes even a school football field. As far as the pepper spray, why don't you try Cabellas.com. I think they ship to Canada and the last time I checked they had "bear spray". It sprays farther than the regular spray. I think we both should go walk with Simon! lol

awwww....you can still go for walkies!!! It might be a little more troublesome and take a little longer, but perhaps you could go to a quieter park or something with very few other dogs or people...go for a nice peaceful walk there. Or, if you are brave, you could talk to the owners of those pets about your problem (THEIR problem actually, its their faults...)...but that is only if you are bold, if you are shy like me, I'd do the former

definitely--good idea! Definitely better safe than sorry! Im sorry I did not realize it was illegal there but I still agree that you should keep it anyway and just be quiet about it. It will come in handy both for big/scary/stray dogs and when you are out and about around your neighborhood at dusk/dark and somebody might come up behing you...not trying to scare you or anything, this was just the talk my mom gave me last fall LoL...

| ![]() I would try a dog park and take my pup there, but sometimes there are big dogs in the parks. You may want to start a small terrier group in your area and meet somewhere a few times a month so they can play.

| ![]() We don't have to worry about dogs in our town. All dogs have to be leashed or have to be trained not to leave their own property (a lot of people have the invisible fences). It sure makes it easy going for walks because I see some dogs being walked that I would not want my dog near.

| ![]() awww it would be a shame if you and Layla have to stop going for walks! Is there a park close to you where you can go and walk her? |
