Sammi's bestest doggie pal is a pitbull...My sister rescued him at 9 weeks old...He is the smartest, sweetest, gentliest dogs my family has eevr encountered...As you can see from these pics Sammi literally walks all over this dog..and he sits and takes it...When they are in the backyard...there is a ledge by the basement steps...Well, we have thought Storm to "go get Sammi" and he puts his whole body by the ledge in order for her not to fall off...He adores Sammi...

To me the breed is often given a bad rap...Even when my sister brought him home from the shelter...My mom said "OH MY GOD A PITBULL, HE CANT STAY HERE WITH KASEY (her matlese)" Well he is the same way with Kasey too now...Now of course I am NOT saying all pitbulls are like Storm, it really depends on the upbringing (IMO)

That is so sad. It's not the animals, fault it's the owner fault. Punish the deed, not the breed. That man should never be allowed to own an animal again. I always thought you should have to have a license to buy a dog. You should have to go through all kinds of classes, and they should do a back ground check on the person to ensure they never abused or hurt an animal before. This just makes me sick.

I agree all pitbulls are not mean. I know from experience. My ex boyfriend and I breed pitbulls and they were the sweetest things we have ever had (besides Rams now). They are only mean if you raise them that way!

I agree with you. My boyfriend really wants a pitbull. So we decided that we would look for a good breeder and wait For Cosmo to get a little older and we move into a bigger apt. so The two can play. I think it is how they are brought up. I know a guy who has a pretty pitbull and she is the sweetest dog ever.

It's illegal to have a pit bull in the county in which I live.

My dog rusty was attacked by a pitbull a few years ago. It ended up getting put to sleep:-(. all the man got was a fine and loosing his dog. i think his dog was lucky. i'd seen him hit that dog so many times. I felt safer with the dog put to sleep but i felt sooooo bad. It would have been much more satisfying to see the owner get put to sleep. (he's in jail now for robbing a gas station:-) ) i wish i had been able to save it. i actually really like pit bulls the ones that are well trained are just the sweetest dogs ever!!!

I KNOW!! my friend morgan as a pit bull, she is the sweetest thing. She doesn't bite and she only growls when someone is at the door and she doesnt know who! And they had a pug (you know how little those are) and she was sooo sweet to it!! The dog that attacked your rusty was probably like that because the owner hit him. I hate it on animal planet when I see the pitbulls who are trained to fight. Its soo sad. They can't really ever get adopted because they are aggressive because they were trained to be that way.

thats just what they're thought of. so baisically no but yes your thinking of the right breed. they are not "usually" very agressive they are usually very sweet. not all are unpredictable they are just soooooooooooooo sweet if they are RAISED PROPERLY i hate to see inocent dogs get put to sleep because of something the owner did.

The owner of the Pit bull on the show said it ran away while he was punishing it...(beating it) They never did find it.

Wasn't that convenient for the owner? He looked like a slime ball anyhow.. (owner not the dog) I'm not sure what happened to him in court, my hubby came home right then and I didn't catch his punishment.

I watched animal cops last night and cried.. Its such a sad show.. They had that pitbull puppy that was chained up with the collar embedded through his neck.. Thats so sad.. We have a pitbull/lab mix living in my complex and she is the sweetest dog.. Mocha loves her!!

I just found out this morning that the little boy who goes to the school i teach at who was attacked by his grandfathers pitbull will be back to school on Monday!! I can't wait to see him!! He lost his eye and got at least 1200 sitches in his face!! He is only in 1st grade
