| ![]() Hats off to you and your patience. I'm afraid she would have gotten that shoe thrown right back in her face! You don't know why she does what she does, people have issues that we can't understand, even our friends. Be supportive but let her know you cannot allow her to be cruel to an animal or child without doing something or saying something. Just as it was in her nature to react by throwing that shoe, it was in yours to say something about it. I am sure she will get over it a lot easier than that puppy will. You absolutely did the right thing! Windy and Lida Rose |

| ![]() You have a lot more patience than I would have had - I do not tolerate abuse of animals of any kind. Everyone else has been much more understanding than I could have been. If she doesn't give you the puppy or get some help for her anger issues, I would consider alerting the local SPCA and risk losing the friendship before I could chance having a dead or seriously injured puppy on my conscience. This is just me and I'm not speaking for anyone else but what kind of person can hurt a puppy...? This is just so sad. Best of Luck, Dana |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | ![]() awwwwwwww....that's so sad. even someone who hasn't had a yorkie before or any size dog its not hard to tell you shouldn't hit them. NO DOG IN THE WORLD SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT!!!!! its terriable that she threw the shoe at him. you should just tell her that....hitting her dog can really hurt him and you know she doesn't want to do that. dogs are like babies and they have to be treated that way. you should also never call a dog when you want to punish it you should just go get it. but to punish it you don't hit it. you put it in the bathroom or something. good luck and tell us what happens! |

TO Zoewies mom....Oh sweetie - you friend has a BIG PROBLEM ! I'm sorry to say that but that is just awful what she's doing and is only going to make her puppy a nervous wreck or kill him...It's abuse plain and simple. I would take that poor baby in a SECOND if I saw an opportunity - I know you're friends and all but PLEASE talk with her - if she treats her puppy that way...poor innocent thing...then she's a potential child abuser also - I cannot STAND someone who raises their hand to animals or kids...that's just so wrong and she needs to stop before she kills that puppy. This was really upsetting to read...I wish you the best of luck with your friend - but she doesn't sound like a very nice person.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() lol...I tried to edit but there's a time limit now - I wanted to add - IF my friend were to call me now....I'd be there NOTfor HER... but for her animals - (she had a beagle) After all her problems - (one of them was not buying food for her dog and bird - yet she always had cigarrettes) ! Guess who used to buy her dog food ? When she used to tell me they were hungry - I'd buy the food and leave it at the Petco Counter with her name on it. After doing that a few times - her and I talked ....but then she started locking him up in a laundry room over peeing in the house - that was the last straw and I told her off...said she needed to find him a home - and she stopped speaking to me - I actually miss her but have NO RESPECT for her at all now So at the risk of your friendship - I would have a long talk with her - then I probably would go a step further and save that poor yorkie - she does NOT need a pet....she obviously can't handle it and has temper problems. |

| ![]() That is a heart-breaking story. I can't imagine hitting my dog, as a matter of fact, I can't even get mad at them. When I tell them they are bad for doing something, they look at me with those sad puppy eyes and make me want to cry. So then I go pick them up, give them kisses, and say I'm sorry! You are in a very tough situation. I would call your friend and explain to her that you didn't mean to upset her but animal cruelty is wrong. It's illegal! Apologize and explain to her that the puppy doesn't know where to go potty. It hasn't been taught yet. It doesn't just have instincts to go outside. Don't tell her this, but this is an interesting quote: Quote:

| ![]() This has truly made me cry. Both my husband and I are anxious to hear about this situation. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this with a friend, but I feel much more for the puppy. Please tell us that you are the new mom of this poor little guy. |

| ![]() It makes me sick to think that if she'd throw a shoe at him right in front of you, what is she doing to that poor innocent puppy behind closed doors? I can't imagine any yorkie owner that would want to inflict fear into their little one. She definitely has a problem...I hope and pray you can get that little guy to love and make him feel secure, which he so well deserves. Poor little sweetie...living in fear...so sad. |

| ![]() Here is an update. well i called her yesterday and she told me she and her husband are going to take the puppy to some obedience trainer. and she's is going to see how it all goes. she told me she feels really bad giving the dog away because her kids really love the dog. so i told her if she needs my help to just call me and i'll help her anyway i can. i asked her how he was doing and she said she keeps him in her daughters room so she wont have to fight with him until she gets him some training. So that's all she told me, she really didn't want to talk to me, so i told her i'll call this weekend to see how everything went with the trainer. She told me she still has me in mind, that she'll give me the puppy if she can't deal with it anymore. But i noticed she's been saying she doesn't want the dog ever since she got him she ws always telling me to take him and she'l drop him off and come pick him up with her kids after a week and they would just come crying asking me why i have their dog and it breaks my heart to see the kids so sad so i give him back twice. so i told her to please just be patient and try.. well that's all for now. Thanks everyone... |

| ![]() Zoey's mom, it sounds like a no win situation. I am so sorry for that little dog. There are times when no matter how hard you try, you cannot make a situation better and this might be one of those times. If that baby is TECHNICALLY your friend's and not her husband's, all kinds of legal issues come into play. I am sure that So Cal... can give more legal info than I on that. But, I can tell you that life experience has taught me that there are times when I cannot make something better and I have to make a decision to either-well, can't say that..he-he..accept of reject. In this case for my own well-being, I would have to bow out and pray that she will come to her humane senses...Good Luck in this..The victim continues to be the dog..Sad, so sad. |

| ![]() Puppy needs to take owner to obedience training. I am sorry i should have not said that. but i will add a question to this. when you take a dog to obedience training do they also give training to the owner also? to prevent things like this happening.
