Kathy, it is more important to get the PI than the police, Galatea will be our saving grace and give us much more than a policeman can at this point. We need the PI first, when his job is finished, we need Galatea to contact the police with all the information the PI has collected, in turn get the judge to issue warrants, and let Maureen come along with the police and maybe Galatea to ID Zeke!!!! Then comes the planning of the big bash!

I have been trying to get in touch with Maureen with no avail, she is probably trying to find ZEKE, I will be back on line after I have talked to Maureen, please all Pray that we can get the PI on Board today, and he can start setting up tomorrow, and have ZEKE home at the latest Monday. Galatea, if you have talke to Maureen could you Pm me, Kathy, or Judyeve, and Daisymae. Daisymae willl be on line part of the day, and I will be back after 9:00

I will pledge my gift to Maureen today. In the meantime, may God help with the gifts, so we can hire the PI, and get this all put behind us once and for all!!

I'm back...I had a hair appointment too, that's why I've been gone so long. I came home with my lottery tickets...turned my 'puter on, to catch up on anything I may have missed here...and am now busy scratching off tickets...unfortunately all I've gotten so far is $2.00...think we can hire a PI with that??? Everybody keep your fingers crossed, I still have more to scratch off!!!

I would not want a PI from a small place like Modesto, and would never just pick one out of the phone book, Galatea has 2 that she knows will not cheat us and get the job done right and asap. I would put all my trust 100% on what Galatea has recommended us to do. The PI is 90 miles away, that is 1 1/2 hours, and the cost is including travel time, mileage and expenses. Which could be anywhere from 65.00 per hour to 95 per hour, that includes everything so travel time is not an issue.

However getting everyone to gift is a issue that we need to start working on asap!!!

the closest PI is 90 miles? ask galatea, maybe the modesto ones are good as well. if she still thinks that one's the best, i guess it's our only hope..

Lori you are wonderful to get all those names, however I really feel we should do a Galatea has suggested, and she knows 2 really good trustworthy PI, we do not need to be taken advantage of anyone, that we do not know and that does not come recommended. Please, I really think we should go on what Galatea has suggested we use. I think it will save us money in the long run, and we will get Zeke back asap, no wasted time. We do not know any of these people, and Galatea said we do not want to pick one out of the phone book. The ones Galatea knows have a good track record with her, and that is very important.

I have soooooooo much to do and I just can't stay away from this forum. I am going to get all my work done, and hopefully be able to get back at 9:00.

I agree with you 100%....It is hogwash that Maureen is being told to wait until Friday.
These jerks may take Zeke anywhere by then...especially if he's suspicious in any way.

This is a crime, a felony.
It is personal theft of a family member (pet)
Aren't they taking this serious???
If this was happening here in Mass. I would have my dad all over it.
Even though this isn't his department, he's an "Narcotics Detective" in Boston.
Anyway, I called him just 15 minutes ago and told him whats been going on with Zeke the Yorkie.
I informed him that the police hasn't really been that helpful...and he agreed with most of you ladies, NOT to attempt to do this on her own!!!!
He said if one officer isn't helpful, call another then another, until one will assist.
He also informed me that, if this lil boy is under a certain age, he CANNOT be forced to talk to an officer.
This can "only" be enforced by the parent.
If the boy wants to come forward on his own, then an officer will hear him out.
Of course this law may differ from one state to another...
He's not sure how it works in California...
Maybe we should check on it???
My dad also told me that Maureen has rights to.
She should get a rally of people together and search the neighborhood Zeke was last seen.
There is no law against searching for your pet.
But if she wants to approach this mans home again, the results will be better performed with an officer by her side.
Getting a warrant to search his home is going to be real hard.
After all,, the cops only have "hear say" to go on.
Now, if Maureen or someone working with her on this,, actually saw the dog with her own two eyes, that's a whole different ball game and the court will have to issue the cops a warrant.
Take a camera with you just incase you do see Zeke on his property.

My dad told me to keep him informed and if Maureen continues to have a difficult time with the Police Dept, he will be glad to call them and help you.
I told dad that you are a Yorkie friend and dad knows how passionate I feel about Jack and my yorkies friends...lol
I also told him how scared you are Maureen, and how much Zeke means to you...also how all of us are coming together to help you get your baby back home.
He said he wouldn't want to go up against us yorkie moms...

Again, Ladies Galatea would not lead us astray, she is helping us for free!!!!!!! The least we could do is take her advice on a PI, this is also her business, and I am sure she has worked with many, she is invested in us, and getting Zeke back, let just go for what she wants us to do, and that is not get one out of the yellow pages. This is sooooooooo important, and a good PI may cost more in the begining, but will save with the time and knowledge and expierence they have to get the job done asap, with no mistakes. We need to see what he needs for a retainer, and go for it. Time is a wasting!!!! We do not have time to argue over this, we need to take the advice of our lawyer, after all that is why she is onboard, she knows what she is doing and will not get the wrong people involved for us. We need to put all our trust in her. This is not her first Rodeo! This unfortunally is our first Rodeo, and we are going be bucked off, if we do not listen to someone who knows what they are doing and has done this many times!!!!! Then we must have stupid written accross our forhead. She has nothing to gain from this, she is doing it from the love in her heart, please lets believe in her judgment.
