| Snoodles had Emergency Vet visit! Poor Snoodles had something caught in her throat and was having a terrible time breathing this morning! It scared the holy crap out of me! I tried to get it out, but she was having a really hard time breathing, so I ran out of the house--sped through red lights--she would collapse and I would shake her and hit her on the back--my heart was pounding--(too old for this) ran in the vet's they grabbed her and took her back--all the while I am shaking like a leaf! They came back out, and she had a piece of Petrodex stuck in her throat. They said not to give her any more of them--or rawhide chews that it is too dangerous with the little ones! Believe it or not, he never charged me a cent! Could have blown me over! I am still shaking! What a scare that was! I thought sure she would quit breathing before I could get there! I guess small towns have some redeeming features--3 minutes to the vet! Thank God she is all right! Pat |

| Oh thank goodness she is OK and you took her so quickly.....WOW that is great - no charge, mine charges a fortune for EVERYTHING. Yesterday Bella got part 2 of the Lyme shot and they charged $32 for the Benadryl shot, $25 for the visit, $17.50 for the actual shot, $1 medical waste. Then they heard an extra heartbeat while checking her out and want her to come for an EKG Wed - 6 hrs she will be there - another $195 Thank goodness I have insurance, wish I lived in a small town like you!! HUGS to SNOODLES from Bella

| OMG ... Pat I am so thankful she is alright!! I know you were mortified! I have found a vet here in Grand Junction that's like that and he is only 5-10 minutes away!! It's so reassuring when you have a good, caring vet! Good job, Mom!!

| Thank God Snoodles is okay!!!! The day I brought BeanSprout home he choked on a pig ear....I managed to get it out of his throat, but I will NEVER EVER let him have one again. This brings up a question: How does one do the puppy "Heimlech" manuver? |

| First of all Petrodix are flat sticks that help the teeth stay clean. I break them in half for her---or at least I did! I'm telling you it scared the heck out of me. She was flopping around pawing at her throat, and then would just stiffen out! When I put her in the car, she would trash and fall off the seat onto the floor, and stiffen out and I would shake her and hit her back---great nurse, huh? I went through 2 stop lights, and thought if a policeman sirened me he would have to follow me to the vets, because I wasn't stopping for nothing! It was only a piece about an inch and a fourth long, and an inch wide. It was stuck sideways in her throat. I couldn't find anything myself, so that's why I was so scared. She was in a panic and I was in a panic. When I ran in, the gal that took her said, "Oh this is bad"! I was soooo scared! Thanks for all your replies---but whatever you do, don't give them Petrodix or rawhide chews if they are little----Snoodles is 3#1oz. From now on when I give her her greenies, she will be on my lap and I will hold it until she eats it. No more giving mommy a heart attack! Pat |
