| That would definately bug me. I would ask her to please put your pup down. If you want to soften the blow, tell her you want your dog to get exercise, so she needs to be down on the ground. Good luck, too bad you don't have a backdoor you can sneak out through.

| okay I would be very annoyed and ask her politely not to pick her because the reason she is outside is to get exercise by walking!!! Is this an adult?? Does she live with someone else that maybe you could talk to ?? I personal am the type that would tell her when i saw her coming towards me and my fur baby..Look but don't touch!!! and stand between her and my baby!!!! lol

| thats sounds crazy.... i was at the park with gizzie once and she always has to walk up to people and smell their feet and get to know them anyway this little girl about five years old picked her up without asking first. i was telling her to please put her down b/c she is such a tiny dog and is very fragile the little girl kept holding her even tighter and squeezing her so i told her again very sternly and went to try to grab her but she almost dropped her head first onthe sidewalk thank goodness i caught her just in time. i was very annoyed and scared so out of impulse i said to her, next time you need to respect other peoples animals and her mother came running over and called me a ugly name and told me to get away from her child. i told her where was she a few minutes ago when her daughter was torturing my baby. |

| I don't know if she's mentally challenged, but she might be. She just seems very bossy and annoying. I thinking of taking Vickie out in her carrier. Then putting her down when I get out of eyesight. |

| Yes, it would absolutley bother me. I remember when my kids were babies and toddlers, it amazed me the ppl that would stop and try to pick them up or lean over the buggy in stores and try and kiss them Its hard to do, but when someone crosses that boundary, emotionally challenged or not, they need to be told, "No"!

| That would annoy me BIG time! I get annoyed when people come up and pet my dogs without asking, let alone pick them up! And don't even go there with trying to tell me what to do or not do with my pets Just be careful how you deal with her, sometimes if you say the wrong thing it can make it worse and with her being your neighbor I'd hate for you to have to deal with her all the time. Maybe you could tell her you are trying to train your baby to walk when you're outside and you no longer allow anyone to pick her up, something like that...I hope you are able to figure something out! |

Good idea. But, I'd just tell her you'd prefer that she didn't pick her up, that you are trying to train her to stay close to you and not go to just anyone because dogs have been stolen that way.

| I don't think she would be insulted if you found a way that you're comfortable with to tell her not to pick up your dog. In the end, if she is insulted and doesn't want to talk to you, aren't you better off? I just had something uncomfortable with a neighbor and our dogs. I was nice about it, but she keeps her dog away from me and my dog now. I like it!

| Oh, I couldn't stand that. No one is allowed to pick Summerlin up without my permission, except members of my family. I rarely let anyone else hold her, even with my permission, and definitely no strangers. I would have to tell her to keep her hands off. Just last weekend, we went to a spring fling at a nearby shelter, and this lady was petting Summerlin, which was fine. Then she said, "oh, let me hold her!" I had no idea who this woman was, I wasn't about to let my baby go to her! I politely told her that I don't allow strangers to hold Summerlin, and she got all huffy and told her friend that I was being stingy with my dog. She's my dog!! If I don't want someone else messing with her, that is my business! My mom tried to calm the waters, but I didn't care - no way was that lady getting Summerlin. No, I couldn't stand your neighbor - I would have to say something, but that's just me... I'm not afraid to speak my mind to other people.

| That would definitely annoy me, and it would make me mad if someone just picked up my dog like that. I don't let strangers hold Jake. My neighbors are fascinated with Jake because of his small size (they have a huge lab), but they never try to pick him up or anything. He likes them because he sees them alot. We're friends so I wouldn't mind one of them holding Jake, but that lady you're talking about would tick me off. Can you try to nicely tell her that your dog doesn't like to be picked up by people? If that doesn't work, you might have to get more stern with her. She's being very rude! |
