| $431.13??!!! Is it me, or is $431.13 a lot to pay for spaying Cali? I know it needs to be done and all, but geez .........I just don't understand why it costs so much? I take her to Banfield, I'm wondering if they are higher, or can I expect to pay this pretty much anywhere? I mean, if I gotta, then I gotta, but........geez!

| To get my girl spayed it was $66.00 and that included a shot that he gave her. Sounds like alot to me, but I guess it depends on where you live...

| My 1st appointment when Rhapsody got home was with Banfield. They charged me $150.00 for 2nd round of shots, and to examine her. Needless to say, I felt this was ridiculous!! The vet we use now is where I took Tiger for the 1st time, he charged me $30.00 for his 3rd round of shots, and he examined him for his health check (to make sure he was healthy since I'd just gotten him from his breeder). Huge difference, now I know we got lucky with our vet, but when I called around Banfield was hands down the most expensive, and I mean way out of the ballpark. Call around!!!!! Banfield really pushes their doggie insurance, I think this might be why they are so expensive. Good Luck!

| Well, I was told that they charge an extra $44 because she is over 6 months (she just turned 6 months yesterday btw), then I was told she has to have her 6 month heartworm, and then ofcourse the $35 office visit. Ridiculous to me. I waited this long because she is so small. 3 1/2 pounds, I thought I was doing her a favor (she hasn't gone into heat yet) by waiting until she can handle the medication better but this is crazy. I can tell you that I do not want to pay that if I don't have to. If anyone knows of a reputable vet in the Atlanta GA area, please let me know. I have no problems with Banfield doctors, but the prices......I've had enough.

Looks like I'm shopping around for a good vet with not as much overhead. Maybe that will make the difference.

| My BOY to get neutered was $350 from my vet. I can get coupons here where I can get my other one done for $56. I chose to get my boy done at my vet bc he had a heart murmur at the time and she was nervous about him and anesthia, so was I, so I paid more! My other boy has no health issues so he won't be nearly as costly.

| I read more of this post... I think my vet must be outrageous too... I have 2 boys and Ive gone to other vets in the past and they are all roughly the same around here. For their 1 year shots and check up (1/2 hr appointment) and antibiotics it was $385. For each check up they get its minimum of $70 but it does seem like they always need something when I go... heartworm stuff, or antibiotics, or shots or soemthing... its never less than $150 when I go to the vet!
