If this is legit, I will be the first to donate. I know many people know me on here and I am not an ogre or a mean person. I have a very caring heart and am very passionate about anything living. I also don't have a problem speaking my feeling or my mind. I too have been scammed before. I am sure there is a little yorkie hurt somewhere but is it the OP's? I am very passionate about helping others and right now my concern is that of the yorkie if it really belongs to the OP. If so, she doesn't need to be rude, upset and sending nasty PM's to people. I hope I am wrong and that I deserve the stoning. I rather be beat to the pulp by everone on this site and called every name in the book than ANYONE getting hurt by this. I tuly mean it! I too understand it is VERY difficult for everyone involved. No one would be involved if this post wouldn't have existed in the first place. I strive to think with my brain first before typing with my heart. |

Edited to Jess....(just saw your post - you have one of the biggest hearts on this site...I know you meant well as did I when posting..... |
i once had to have part of my cat's tail amputated. it was kinda pricey for a single mom living paycheck to paycheck. I got the info from my vet and called around to every vet until I found one that would take a payment plan from me. I then called my vet cuz I loved them so much and told them that I will be taking lelo to another vet for the surgery if they cannot take a payment plan. i told them how much i loved their office and staff and that I really wanted to have the procedure done. I later got a call from the vet asking if I could write some post-dated checks, in 2 week intervals, to pay for it. I was able to do that so I did...and the surgery went GREAT as expected and all was well. what I am trying to say...if this is really something you are going through and you really want help for your baby...take some advice here on the board (this is why you posted, right??? for advice??? so why not take it??) but also, call around...you dont' have to bring your dog into the vet in order to talk to a vet...call around. tell them what you have learned. tell them that you want to hlep your baby. ask them what they think...tell them you cannot afford to go from vet to vet and keep paying the fees. tell them you dont' have all of the money up front for an expensive surgery. don't stop calling around until you find a vet that has the dogs best interest in mind and will work with you. find one that will take a payment plan. heck, you might find one that has an alternative treatment method. If you have a cell phone, then you are not paying long distance fees....call every vet even if they are a couple of hours away. it is worth the drive if you find one that is willing to do what is NECESSARY (and not just what lines their pockets) and if they are willing to take a payment plan of some sort. if your dog is really in need..it is your obligation as his/her owner to do what is best for the dog. not what is best for you. if you cannot take care of him, find a home where they can afford what needs to be done. if that is not an option (rehoming) then follow some steps to finding a vet that will work with you, and you can make it happen, and you need to do it. people here on YT are very passionate about their love for their dogs and other animals...more than many of the vets i have met. so for them to offer advice and every bit of it to be shot down, that is why they get so upset and suspicious. they hear a story about a baby in need and they JUMP on it. without knowing anything about you, they offer their hearts, prayers, and any advice they can give. if you dont' want the advice, don't post on here. If you ask for advice, and you don't listen to any of it, then you have no right asking for it. If you are going to get upset because someone followed up on what you are saying....you shouldn't have given the information about your vet. she was trying to help to calm others concerns and skepticism and to HELP YOU. people here are trying to help you. if they are suspicious...it is for a reason. and instead of getting upset and defensive, maybe you should do something to calm their concerns. all i care about is the well being of your dog. if you cannot do what is best for your dog...a living creature that is at YOUR mercy...then find someone that can. period. and stop getting ticked that people are trying to help you!!!! |
I Agree~ Let's get the name of the Veterinary Clinic from Tahoes Mommy and the address and make this ALL Legit...Funds could be used for whatever the treatment plan may be...And if any funds should be left after Tahoes treatment and recovery, we ask the administration to donate it to a local shelter...This can be so simple, let's get the ball rolling on this dog receiving a treatment plan...To Tahoes Mommy... "Please post any information that can help us, help you"..Thanks everyone! yml:animal36 I just had one other thought, can we set up a fund here on YT and have a representative in charge of the funds and the checking of the legitimacy of things and they work w/ the clinic directly? We have a similar type of program at an airline I fly for... |
i agree that if someone wants to donate to tahoe...donate the money directly to the vet's office. not to a private individual. this is the only way to avoid getting scammed. this way, you know a dog in need is getting the help it needs. and if more money is donated than what is needed for tahoe, it can go to another animal in need. there is no harm in that. and yes, jess, you do have a big heart. and it is people like you that make this world a better place to live...you are a true doll!!! |

That WAS well said Pepe     |
i had to go back and read my post again. it took me a very long time to type it (phone kept ringing). i meant every word of it. this poor baby needs help and as humans that have chosen to domesticate these animals, it is our obligation to take care of them. these poor babies can't do it on their own. and everyone on here that has given advice or words of encouragement....bless you all. even if tahoe's mom does not take it, you may have affected someone else in the process and possibly save a life on another baby somewhere. this is what it is all about...right? |

It's kinda like walking on egg shells everytime we are in a similar situation ;) |
I worry so much about these babies....they are so helpless. and owners that don't pull out all the necessary stops to help them, shame on them!!!! it makes me so angry. these dogs are so loyal to us. protect us at all costs. give us love that is completely unconditional. they will stand by our sides NO MATTER WHAT we are going through. how can we not do the same for them? I just dont understand. I would hope that Tahoe's mommy will do all she can to make his life as abundant as possible. because he would do the same for her if it were possible!! |

This whole thread has been very emotional from the start. The OP has posted a lot of information, but it has been scattered here and there. Some things that she posted are very confusing, hard to follow and picture the exact situation and chain of events. Never the less, I took her story as serious. I took a personal stake b/c for some reason I felt a connection, maybe b/c we both are living on Long Island, maybe b/c she has a boy and a girl Yorkie (just like me), maybe b/c I am Polish too. Whatever the reason, I felt the urgency and wanted to help. I did not call her Vet, even though she posted who the Vet was and where. I have only gone by what has been posted here on YT. I spent ALL of yesterday worrying about Tahoe, b/c YES Tahoe is paralyzed and he REALLY does need surgery. This is definitely true, there is a Yorkie named Tahoe who is going through this nightmare as we speak. I suggested the Specialist and the Hospital that I took Roxy to have her Luxating Patella surgery at. She is an excellent Dr. Roxy surgery cost $4000 ? We didn?t have that kind of money just lying around. I work paycheck to paycheck, but we somehow found away for it. This summer TJ also has to have the same surgery ? another $4000. So, I know what stress is like too. I have $8000 debt in Yorkie surgery in 1 year. I offered to donate a small amount of $ (b/c I can?t afford much) to the OP to seek a Specialist?s help. I gave her my personal phone # and was begging her to call me b/c I was frantic and thought this matter needed urgency, and I was willing to drop everything and brainstorm to try and find this baby help - immediately. I told her suggestions of the Care Card, the Hospital I recommended has Payment Plans, I have asked a acquaintance of mine who is a Board Member of www.petpeeves.org to please ask around to find out if we can get her some type of financial assistance, other people have mentioned Yard Sales (which, I?d be more than happy to assist in as well), and as a final resort, I asked her to consider a Yorkie Rescue, b/c she was refusing ever other suggestion, I thought this poor little soul desperately needs surgery and maybe that would be his only hope. She was not happy at all with any suggestions, advice or help. I honestly feel that she came here to find ways and suggestions from ppl to ?home care? for Tahoe. I could be wrong, but with all the options and advice given to her, why is she not ecstatic that there is hope??? Kasia ? I have apologized to you b/c you told me I hurt your feelings. That was not my intentions at all, as I told you, I honestly thought that all my advice, suggestions and offers were only to support you and to find the necessary medical care for Tahoe. I am still here and still willing to help for Tahoe?s well being. Please listen to the Yorkie Moms who have babies with AAI. Only you can confirm that this is what Tahoe has, BUT I know from experience (with Roxy I saw 4 Vets and 2 Specialist) that Long Island and New York in general have some of the BEST Vet Doctors ? who can accurately diagnose. I am sure that your Vets have already diagnosed Tahoe?s condition and I am sure they have explained to you thoroughly the options and have offered and told you the best route for him. Lastly, Yorkietalk is an awesome place to call Home. We are family here and all we want is the best possible for our Yorkies and other members Yorkies too! |
