My gosh I am so sorry How did it happen? Did the vet say he may recover with out surgery? |
Did your vet give a diagnosis yet? It sounds like a possible case of AAS. What info can you give about the injury. I have been through the whole ordeal of AAS so I may be of help to you. Let us know. Lorraine |
How did it happen? How was your poor baby hurt? How did it happen? |
I seen 5 diffrent vets ovet the week my old vet was an a** so i transfer my paper work to my new vet who is the best vet i ever met...she gave me hope..he is on dexamethasone 0.25 twice a day and pepcid ac to protect his stomach...he stat moving his back legs ..there is slight improvment and i hope he will get better...i cant afford to see specialist anymore and they told me if i cant afford surgery i should put him to sleep...its not an option..he dose not suffer...he's on pain meds and looks comfy..iam not putting my dog to sleep bc some vet told me to do so...iam not giving up on him that easy...garage sale is nice its just i dont really have nothing to sale...i dont have garage..lol...thanks anyway |
I pray for your little boy. Is he in a lot of pain? Perhaps it would be best to call a Yorkie rescue to get help the quickest so that he doesn't suffer. Maybe a YT member near you in New York could help to find the number? |
Where in NY are you located? |
Aww hope everything turns out okay so that he won't have to get surgery! |
I have heard amazing results with accupuncture on dogs with back and neck injuries. Some on a dachshund list I was on couldn't afford surgery and went this route and now there dog is running and walking once again! It will still be expensive, but not like the surgery! Hope this helps! So sorry your boy was hurt. |
Please don't give up hope. There is a Specialist in Small Dog Surgery - Her name is Dr. Laura Hinton, at the Center for Specialized Vet Care in Westbury, NY (Long Island - Exit 41 on the LIE) Here is the website: http://www.vetspecialist.com/index.p...VC2&number=100 I do beleive they have special programs to help those in need who don't have the means. They have FAITH: http://www.foranimalsinthehospital.com/ I also believe they have that 'card' you referred to. Please give Dr. Hinton a call and see if there's any way she can help or guide you in the right direction. This is a wonderful Hospital - Highly recommeded, they also do so many things (donation, fundraisers, etc.) for sheltered animals. It's worth a shot to check them out! Please keep us poted :) |
sorry that this happend it is very sad. I would try for the care credit or see if a vet will work with you. this baby has no quality life laying paralyzed i know it's hard but if you can't get him the surgery you should really consider putting him to sleep it would ease his suffering.:( |
I hate to be the skeptic here but why isnt this person answering any of our questions? Makes me think all isnt what it seems to be but I could be wrong. I hope there really is a puppy and this isnt what I think it is. |

The people on this site are caring, wonderful ppl and have a wealth of information to offer - but not to someone looking to scam. |

I thought that very same thing as soon as I saw the first post. I hope it isn't that way though. I would love to be more help but I'm kinda leary. I just wasnt going to say anything, thinking maybe I would get bashed for even thinking that way. But since someone else said it for me, I have to say I agree. |
