There is no hobby breeder program except there could be one in her county or town she lives in, AKC doesn't have anything like that. You can register it with the AKC, AKC doesn't care. BUt I would never use her for breeding. You could perhaps, once you get her registered and they will, send a copy to the AKC of the Vet report about the eye and also send a copy of the Vet report to the breeder by registered mail. You can then let the AKC know that you have informed the breeder and also tell them of your experience with the breeder. I have no idea if the AKC will care or not, they may possibly decide to do an inspection which they can do. I personally have seen so few genetic eye problems in Yorkies there really is no excuse to breed and have it in puppies. | |

| I found the dog condition Entropion is a medical condition in which the eyelids fold inward. It is very uncomfortable, as the eyelashes rub against the cornea constantly Symptoms of entropion include: Redness and pain around the eye Sensitivity to light and wind Sagging skin around the eye Excessive tearing Decreased vision, especially if the cornea is damaged Treatment is a simple surgery in which excess skin of the outer lids is removed. Prognosis is excellent if surgery is performed before the cornea is damaged Upper lid entropion involves the eyelashes rubbing on the eye, but the lower lid usually has no eyelashes, so hair rubs on the eye. Surgical correction is used in more severe cases. A strip of skin and orbicularis oculi muscle are removed parallel to the affected portion of the lid and then the skin is sutured |

Good luck with the surgery ... 50ish sounds like a little to me since (I am assuming) anesthesia will be involved <???> I pay more here for just an office visit ... Why not simply submit the bill to her when the surgery is done? And I am glad you are standing by Anna ... you are a GOOD mommy!

| I wonder if it's dacryostenosis...that's a condition human babies get sometimes and have to have their tear duct "opened" with surgery...but I've never heard of stitches being used. Probably not the same thing, I don't know.
