I love my vet or I wouldn't have even thought about having him do it.....it's me....I'm just a super paranoide freak....I'm the same way about myself.....I had to have a procedure done Wednesday and I had the entire "sameday surgical floor" in an uproar......with my carrying on and crying.....and stubbornness.....now I just have to figure out how to get through tomorrow alone.......the regular receptionist had a baby 2 days ago so she won't be working tomorrow LOL....and I was counting on her to call me 75 times during they day......just one more question and I'll try to calm myself down......Brandi weighs 4 lbs 13 oz and she has to stop eating at midnight tonight.....she shouldn't have a sugar drop or anything before she goes in tomorrow (at 10:00am) should she?

you won't be alone.. i will be home ALL day tomorrow at my computer writing a paper... PM me ANYTIME!! don't worry that i'll think you are werid because i was in your shoes once! i know what it is like... so DON"T HESITATE ok??? you are lucky she has till midnight. layla did not have that long... i woudln't worry about the sugar drops.. i think she will be just fine.. layla was only 3 lbs.. had to stop at 9.. and she did fine.. they will keep a line in her while she is out (you will notice a shaved area on her upper paw) to keep her hydrated... but before you go to bed... see if you can give her wet food (if you have that) or some cheerios... or a piece of carrott.. just something special that she will eat and so you know she has something in her before bed (if you can't convince her to eat her kibble) good luck tomorrow.. i EXPECT a pm to let me know how it went dropping her off i want to hear all about it especailly when she get home! i'm around all day.. so help me procrastinate from this stupid paper try and have a good sleep!

one more thing.. i know it will be hard.. but try and stay calm for her... she is going to know the second you are upset that something is going on... i cried when i left layla but i saved it for the car... i know she hates the vets but i didn't want her to see me upset (yes.. they can tell!!) and become even more upset... when i was there they let me stay until she was all "loopy" which i found helped a lot... but regardless of how long you can stay... stay strong of her and crumble later...

| Did you drop your baby off yet? She will do just fine. I was worried about Bella too. She just got fixed on Tuesday and she was back to her same ol' self yesterday. She is eating and playing (even though she really shouldn't but I really can't stop her) and she is just a happy little pup. Good luck today!!!! Just stay calm and let me know if you need anything!

I had my little girl done a couple of months ago. She is fine and she certainly does not hate me. She did fine afterwards as well. I did not allow her to jump or go up and down stairs. When I picked her up, I held onto her bottom and chest at the same time so that I did not put any pressure on her incision. She stayed overnight at the Vets and was still a little woosy when I picked her up. She did not feel like doing much the first couple of days back home, but then became more active. When I took her to get the stitches out, it took all of a minute, if that. It was fast. My little girl is 7 years old and doing fine. No problems. Let us know how your little girl did.

I just left her....and I feel a little better about it....I forgot how much I do like my vet.....he's great.....and he wasn't even bothered by my tears....he even gave me a wad of tissues.....he told me he will pre sedate her.....(something to do with her stomach) and he said he will shave her little belly.....he told me he uses very fine stitches.....and they will be removed in 10 days.....he said she will have 2 layers of disolving stitches internally.....he also said he wasn't terribly concerned with her licking the external he said he's not that concerned with her removing them either...but he has rarely seen it happen....he also told me he will not release her to me today until she's up and walking....which made me feel A LOT better too....I left her with my/her sock that she likes chewing on so she can smell mommy....he didn't wanna put the onesie on her he told me to wait and see what happens it might not be necessary.....so that's it for now until I get the phone call that it's all over.....oh he's also putting her on antibiotics.....and giving me an emergency number in case of anything tonight.....but he told me she will be fine.....so now I WAIT!!! (sigh)

Thank you all for your wishes and prayers......(I did post in the sick/injured forum) FINALLY!!! Brandi seems to be acting herself today.......I had to go to work and I came home lunch time to check on her......and she was frisky......and her tail was wagging.....and she was kissing me (whew)........and when I got home from work tonight she was jumping (I couldn't contain her) how do you stop a dog from being excited to see their mommy?.......she brought me her ball but I don't think she's quiet ready to run around after a ball though.....but I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!! you have no idea........I felt so guilty up until today.......THANK YOU ALL again......hugs from Brandi and mommy
