And on they other hand girls have that every 6 months thing where they bleed or something...but i hear they r easy to potty train..but i'm not sure i cant decide to either get a boy or girl????? they both have a good side but then both have a bad side as well.. can anyone please help me in this tough decision?????? |

| Unless you are set on definitely a male or a female, I would just go looks at the puppies and choose the one that you like best because of the temperment rather than the sex. There are pluses and minuuses to them both. Males most likely wont mark if they are neutered and females wont go into heat if they are spayed. I have one of both and they are both special in their own way. I have found I prefer females over males and My next one will be another female. My female is more affectionate than my male. So I dont believe all males are more affectionate. Good luck with whatever you decide

| Angel. First let's go over the marking issues of a male. If a male is neutered early by six months of age, they generally do not mark. Second; A female that is spayed will not get the "Bleedy thing." If you are looking for a pet then whether you pick a female or a male puppy you should HAVE HER SPAYED OR HIM NEUTERED. This is better for the health of the dog as well, as it can prevent some cancers and it is easier for the potty training atleast when a male is concerned. There is a lot to consider though aside from choosing a male or female. You should really research the Yorkshire Terrier before deciding to buy one. These pups are very high maintancne, meaning they require money for Vet bills, yearly teeth cleaning, grooming etc. Plus they need to be brushed and cared for every day. Also both sexes both male and female are more difficult to potty train, more so then other breeds. Other's here please feel to jump in on this one Elaine |

| i agree that if you are just getting a pet then get him or her fixed. it will prolong the health of your dog. i recomend getting a puppy in spring or summer i got my puppy in the winter and had to wait till spring to house train him and i had him on the puppy pads. call your local vet offices for breeders name and info, or check local paper ads, try ti avoid online classifide ads you can get into aot fo scams. be prepared to pay no less then $500.

| My little male is completely affectionate although he is more independent than my female min schnauzer who is glued to my side always. My Max was very easy to housebreak and was reliable within 2 months of getting him. He is now 9 months old. I am lucky that I am a stay at home mom who could devote all my waking hours to him when we first brought him home. I think that is the key. You need to be with him at all times the first few weeks and never leave him. Being in school will be difficult to be consistent and that is the only way to reliably housebreak a dog. I don't even like having my kids watch the puppy because they are not as vigilant as me. This puppy was supposed to be my daughters, but I knew that as a teenager she would not want to devote her free time to a puppy..I was right and he is mine now! I don't mind at all because he is such a neat little guy. Think long and hard before you make this decision. |

| My daughter asked for Kodak when she was 14 so I studied the breed and searched for a year. I made her come in and read any information that I found on yorkies to help with the decision. I bought books on yorkies so she would have a general idea on how to care for him. I told her she would have to help walk the puppy, feed him and grooming. So when she made 15, I purchased him. Either way you have to be sure you are ready. I have to make her take him out now. Now at 17 she is in school & working part time. I have to remind her to take him out before she goes to work. I have to remind her his bladder is tiny and he can't hold it. She is good about keeping his water and food replinished. With the peepads down, she doesn't remember to walk & brush him as much. Thank God for me the real mommy to look out for his well being. LOL! Just make sure you are read to take care of your new puppy. Welcome to Yt.

| I don't lean more to one then the other......the girl, you have an easier time finding cutesy clothes to dress her up in....but Mojo has TONS of cute things too. Mojo was easy to potty train and he doesn't mark - we neutered him later, but we haven't had a problem. Now, I think with either one, they might still have an accident, Mojo has, but I think that is okay. I think you should just pick the one that is cute, healthy and that catches your eye first. We weren't set on what to get when we got Mojo....but he was just a total doll and we couldn't pass him up. He is a BOY - all boy, but he is definitely a mommas boy too! He stays w/ me all the time and loves to cuddle and give and get love. I believe that it is all how they were raised and brought up by the breeder too! Our breeder had hers in the house and they were her babies. I think that makes a big difference too. Good luck w/ whatever you decide on. I think you can't go wrong either way!

| well i have a female and the only problem with her is that she barks and barks alot...but what Yorkie doesn't LOL. She doesn't blled every 6 months. Another advantage to a female is that you can dress them up let me know which one you choose |

| I'm sure you'll love which ever you decide upon, I have both and love them dearly. Please when you do decide find a reputible breeder, DO NOT buy from a pet store, they get the babies from puppy mills. Best of luck.
