My daughter asked for Kodak when she was 14 so I studied the breed and searched for a year. I made her come in and read any information that I found on yorkies to help with the decision. I bought books on yorkies so she would have a general idea on how to care for him. I told her she would have to help walk the puppy, feed him and grooming. So when she made 15, I purchased him. Either way you have to be sure you are ready. I have to make her take him out now. Now at 17 she is in school & working part time. I have to remind her to take him out before she goes to work. I have to remind her his bladder is tiny and he can't hold it. She is good about keeping his water and food replinished. With the peepads down, she doesn't remember to walk & brush him as much. Thank God for me the real mommy to look out for his well being.
