Do you have a Mini yorkie, teacup yorkie? Mine is a mini yorkie, she is almost 4 months old and weighs 3 lbs. The Vet said that she is full grown, she would weigh less than 10lbs.

Sissy is 4 lbs, 4 oz and stopped gaining weight at about 10 months. Her sister from her littler is 2.5 lbs and Sissy was supposed to be around 3 lbs. She has such a compact little body and most folks think she is a 2-3 lb by her size. I like the fact that she is very sturdy and solid!!

I actually tried to contact her but she hasn't replied. She charged $2500. What's more frustrating is that I refereed some of my friends to her and others who called and looked me up. She's advertising a lot of her pups are teacups (poodles, pomeranians, chihuahuas, yorkies, etc.). And that's when I started questioning her and started looking at my own dog.

I guess you live and learn. This is my first time buying and being a pet owner. I will definitely make better decisions next time.

Looks like your baby will definitely (obviously lol) be bigger than what the breeder stated - but of course, there guess is only that - a guess :rolleyes: Or I guess I should say, an estimate.

I have a 4 lb Yorkie. When I bought him they told me he would be in the 3.5 - 4 lb range. He hasn't gained hardly ANYTHING in a while - he will be 10 months in 2 days, so I think he's done :p

Lucy is 1 1/2 years old and she weighs 3.5 lbs. She was suppose to weigh 5 to 6 lbs. They told me if you want a tiny this is not the litter. We still thought 5 or 6 lbs was really small. We did not care. I have to say I worry about her. I know she can get hurt easily. I always know where she is. I worry about hawks, owls, coyotes, falling off the bed, everything because she is so small and we love her so much. Luckily she is healthy (she was not bred to be small, she was the runt). She brings us so much joy and a lot of laughs.

HiDawl, I know how you feel I bet. I was told kizzy wouldnt get over 4 lbs and this breeder charged me an extra 200 bucks over the other puppy she had for that one reason. she was my first yorkie. I felt just like you when kizzy hit 5 lbs at 4 months old. she is 10 months now and weighs close to if not total 11 lbs. I feel breeders cant usually tell for sure JUST how big one will bet but I feel that a good breeder can give you a better estimate than this lady did me if their truly breeding dogs for the lineage and not just for money. I wont even get into this any further but I will say this. I did want a little one and thats what I was shopping for and she knew it. Some people here will say, why do you want a small dog. well, I want what I want, and I dont feel like I have to have any reason. Kizzy is getting to be a pretty dog, but Maggie is 6 months and weighs barely over 4 lbs and cost 200 less than kizzy did. Kizzy is much more trouble than maggie. Maggie is a quiet little girl for the most part, tho she can get loud when their playing too a degree. Kizzy is so nosey, she has to know what everything is, how it smells, and why it was put there and she can jump up on furniture, but she knows what she isnt allowed to jump on, but maggie cant jump or at least she dont jump. One time she jumped up in a chair in the living room, she has never tried it again and she wont jump off anything if its higher than her. anyway, all else aside, I feel like this breeder just ripped me off for money and I will always believe that. since all that, I know for a fact she lied to me about several things like she didnt own a kennel and only had 3 different kind of dogs she raised in her kitchen in small cages. since that Ive learned she has a kennel some where on her 40 acres, just out of sight. she raises, pomeranians, chi, pekes, and some mixes. So i think she is full of something and I'll always believe she took kizzy from a larger yorkie breed and used a paper from this smaller breed that possible lost one of her little ones and registered kizzy under it. It does happen. I know that for a fact. good luck with your dog and I hope it dont grow like kizzy has if your wanting a small one.

So when can you tell the pup will be a tiny?I am looking at one and 1 1/2 lbs at 14 weeks.

theres no such thing as a mini yorkie
& they grow til 6 months to a year depending on the yorkie

I have 4 yorkies that are 3 1/2 pounds and under... what worked for me was to look at the size of their paws!!!! The older the puppy the better this seems to work....

we did that with all 3 of our dogs we were wrong twice
my silky proved the vet wrong he had the BIGGEST PAWs EVER and he stay small lol
it worked with our chi tho
