Teddy is about 5.5 lbs. The breeder said he would not even get to 3 lbs but I think he is still growing. He is almost 6 mos old. |
Morgan is 8 months old and last time i checked she was 3.4lbs. she's been this weight for the past 3 months too |
Maizee is about 1 year and 4 months old and she weighs in at a whopping 2 and a half pounds. I'm getting her a playmate that the breeder said will be around 3 pounds as well. We will see. . . |
My little guy was 1.6oz at 16 weeks. The breeder said he wouldn't be over 4 lbs full grown. I figured she was right by the charts. Well at 1 year he's 7 lbs. I guess you can never tell. |

Abigail is 9 pds and she is bigger than I wanted her to be but she is so great. She has a really good personality and she is really pretty. Summer on the on other hand is really small. She is probably between 3.5 and 4 pds. I had her spayed bc she is so tiny so she has gained some weight since then so she is probably closer to 4 pds now but thats fine with me. I think the ones that are anywhere between 4 and 7 pds are a really good size. It seems like that is the most common size. But it is hard to judge by weight how big a yorkie is. Abigail doesn't look like she is 9 pds. she is really long but very skinny. I am very happy with both of my girls. :) |
my baby is 5 months old and he weighs 3.5 pounds. they said his dad was 3 pounds and his mom was 5 pounds so i dont know what hell weigh as long as he isnt 10 pounds hes ok, well i guesss even if he was 10 pounds id love him he would just look funny, :) |
Vash is 1 yr old and he is a little over 3.5lbs. |
Royce is 14 months old and the breeder told me that he will be between 3.5 and 4 lb when he is grown up. Now he is 4 lb |
AprilLove is 11 months and has stayed at 3 1/2 lbs since about 8 months. She is getting beefier but not gaining. I agree with some of the posts about the smaller ones and worrying more. I know I have nearly stepped on her at least a dozen times when she was a little smaller, they tend to be right under your feet:) I have learned and taught anyone who comes into my home, to get used to looking down and doing the "Yorkie Shuffle" is standard around here. LOL I also have to look down and back and double check anytime I shut a door because she almost got her little nose smashed in one recently. I have a 5.5 lb maltese and I don't remember having to worry as much with her. (Although, she is white and much easier to see!!) I also have a 24 lb Bichon, and I have to say, all three of these dogs are small dogs. I love them if they are fat or skinny or small or big. As long as they are healthy the weight doesn't matter. I do luv the cuddle factor of the small ones and the portability. |
My yorkie is 2yrs and 9months old and weighs 3 lbs. I love him to death if he was bigger or even smaller than he is. The great advantage to having a 3-4lb dog is that it's soooo much easier to take everywhere. I know there are plenty of of healthy tinies out there but I wasn't so lucky. After surgery and meds and diet change he is doing great. I know there are lots of people who never owned a tiny yorkie that say they really want one when they see my little guy but they have no idea how much extra care the tinies require. I myself prefer the smaller ones that weigh 3- 4.5lbs but I have fallen in love with much bigger ones Genie, Cookie & Lola |
Izzy is 4 months old weighing 3.2 lbs. His mom was 5lbs and dad was 3lbs. I guess he will be between 3-5 lbs. Question for everyone, when are they considered full grown? Is it 1 year? 6 months? |
