Theres a furbaby Im kinda looking at but shes in Boston and the breeder doesnt ship which is fine, but was curious if anybody flew to get theres and how much did you pay to have your pup come with you on the plane? Do airlines make them go in carriers in the back of plane or can they sit with you? Thanks Rory |

| Any Body Flown I don't know how much it cost but I was on a plane and a lady had her yorkie on her lap. I think it depends on the size of the puppy. |

| I haven't done it yet, but I'm getting ready to and already have reservations and purchased the tickets to do it. I'm going on December 20th to pick up a Biewer puppy. We've arranged our flight through Delta. $50 per animal. 2 animals per flight, health cert within 10 days of flight, carrier must fit under seat, (was told the animal is supposed to be in the carrier the whole trip, but we will see about that! hehehe). Once you find the flight that you'd like to book, I'd suggest you call the 1-800 number and ask to make sure there aren't already 2 animals booked for in-cabin travel, so you won't have to put them underneath. Once you find out that there is a "seat" for them, book your flight, then call the 1-800 number back and tell them your flight information and that you'll be carrying your dog on board with you. With Delta, you pay the animal fees at the counter before boarding, that way they can verify the paperwork for the animal to make sure it's good to go.

| I did. I flew from New York to California to pick up my Chihuahua. It was a wonderful experience. I stayed overnight in the breeders home and we really became good friends. In fact, she and her hubby are coming to NY in April and staying at my home. It was just an overall awesome experience and I had a great time!

| Hey Rory!!!!! LOTS of people here on YT have flown to get their yorkies. I know Thorsmama just did last week. I think she said it cost $80 for the yorkie to fly back in her lap in a carrier. Send her a private message and I'm sure she can give you more specifics. And you have GOT to tell me about this little puppy you might get! I'm getting too EXCITED over here!!!! |

| Hi there, We are actually flying in December with our 2 yorkies from London Uk to Washington USA. We are flying United and the dogs were $58 each, to go in a soft sided carrier like a sherpa bag under the seat at our feet and have a vet certificate within 30 days of flying. I am really hoping to put the bags on our knees once the air hostesses have sat down for take off and landing (and as much as I can get away with inbetween) as I am worried it will be really scary for them. I may even try to sneak them out the bag and onto our knees under a blanket for a while hey they can only tell me off then I can put them back in LOL!!! Ruthx

I Love Thor Donating Member | I just flew to NYC from NC to get our new pup. It was an 'okay' experience I guess. Harry was really good! He got a bit anxious in his carrier, so I just put the carrier in my lap and he had a paw in the bag to shut the flight attendent up Everyone on the plane was doting over him. I could go on...about treats and water, etc. PM me if you're interested. |

| I Did! I purchased my first Yorkie off the Internet, I was a Yorkie Rookie and didn't know any better. All I know is I met my first Yorkie in person and he was so impressive that I had to have one right away. I was hooked and addicted and I had to have it one ASAP......I was in Boston at the time and they had no good Breeders there. I found a Breeder in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She charged me an extra $250.00 to ship and that included the plastic crate/carrier and the Health Certificate. Make sure it's a Direct Flight with no Stop-Overs or Connecting Flights. Unfortunetly she flew him from Florida to Newark where he missed his connecting Flight b/c the Flight was 20 min. late so he had to take the next Flight out, during his 4 hr. delay they never let him out to go pee or pooh. When I finally got him he was covered in it, he was so Traumatized by the ordeal that he freaks out over a plastic crate to this day, he refuses to go in one. I've had to Train him to behave, for this he gets full run of my House and can never be crated or caged. But other than that he has been everything that she said he would be if not more! I am more than Happy with him, he is my Everything! But I did learn from the experience. I purchased my 2nd one in person from a Local Breeder, in fact she lives 5 blocks away and I am still Friends with her. Good Luck |

The cost depends on the airline. Usually 50 -100 dollars. I paid $90 on Continental. However when we flew to Walt Disney World with Phoebe it was only $50 on AA. You can check the websites as it is listed on there. Also only 2 pets per cabin is the rule so you will have to make sure there is room BEFORE you buy your ticket. Some of the attendents will allow you to hold your pet. But please understand if they tell you to put them away it is against FAA rules, not theirs. They are counted as one of your carry on items & go underneath the seat. Hope this helps.
