| ![]() I love the cute squrriel comment. That cracks me up. WE call Molly a Hamster or a midget. I have back problems and have a hard time getting around sometimes. My friends ask me what I do with Molly when I am not doing well. I tell them I put her in her cage and she runs on a wheel. The goof balls believe me!!! I live in a neighborhood where their are 10 yorkie families. We call it yorkieville. I do get asked how much she cost. I think that is rude. You don't go around asking people how much their car cost or their clothes. I guess they know they are expensive. I say how much would you pay for true love???? That shuts them up. Connie k

My furkids Donating Member | ![]() I agree with you Carol Jean....If you don't know alot about dogs how would you know what the breed is..I remember being at the vets once and someone had come in with a very large dog...he was mostly black, with some white and tan on him...and had long hair...I asked the man if his dog was a cross between a lab and a St. Bernard!! He very nicely told me that is was a Bermese Mountain Dog....I felt more embarrased than stupid...There are alot of dogs out there (that unless you watch every dog show) that you wouldn't know the breed...I also get people asking me what kind of dog my furgirls are...Most of the time they ask me if they are silky's..I just tell them No...they are yorkshire terriers....

| ![]() I get this question alot in my neighborhood where there arent any other yorkies. When I have them out and about though there are alot of people that know they are yorkies. It doesnt bother me when someone asks though. I have one that is long haired and one that is short, one that is bigger and one that is smaller and they look very different

| ![]() I get this question a lot too. The other day someone asked me if he was a schnauzer (sp?). I wanted to lunge at them. But I didn't. I just responded with, "No, he's a yorkie and he has a bad haircut."

| ![]() Max is a biewer yorkie and I get that question all the time. I find myself saying "No, really, he IS a yorkie" all the time and almost kind of defending his coloring. Usually after I explain the cliff notes version of the German Biewer Yorkie history, I get a "ahhhhhh" but I know they're still thinking ok, what did she just say? lol When I took him to my vet the first time, he found Max so interesting that he immediately did a biewer search online (while we were still there) and seemed even more intrigued. It was kind of cool to see his excitement. |

| ![]() Well be honest now. How many other breeds of dogs, Other than labs and collies and such common breeds, would you recognize. Yorkies are expensive dogs. They are not real common especially among the working class |

| ![]() I had people who would drive by and stop there car, asking 'Is that a dog?'. We couldnt go anywhere without a million stupid questions. The best was I had Baxter in a little enclosure of boards about 11 inches high on my patio for him to pee in and one night as I watched him through the door this HUGE cat came and sat on the outside looking over. You could tell the cat was really confused about what he was seeing like "It smells like a dog but its too small'. Baxter was only 2lbs at that point. I have never seen a cat look completely confused before.lol. ![]() |

| ![]() I get asked allllll the time, but it's usually something like "Is that a yorkie? She is so small, do they alllll come like that?"..lol..which usually prompts me to tell them how much work it is and I only have to name a few things before they back up. Unless I get a better feel for the person and they seem like they really want one to love it, not to carry it around as an accessory. Lots of people with their kids approach me and talk about getting one for their kids and since I don't know how their kids behave with animals, I usually suggest a more sturdy breed. I really can't go anywhere without at least 10 questions. I usually don't mind though, it's usually, "IS THAT A TEACUP" to which I answer, no it's a yorkshire terrier, which annoy me.
