Default Speaking of peeing...

This isn't a pet peeve, but a hilarious story....

While in puppy class one day we were playing "pass the puppy" where everyone passes their puppy around in a circle to get them used to being held by new people. Well, there was this one yorkie in the class Spike (a total 2 lb cutie) and Spike got passed off to this man who just seemed clueless with dogs and only came to class every week b/c his wife was "too busy cooking" to come train HER dog. I guess Spike had a full bladder because the second he got handed off to this guy he PEED ALL OVER HIM. And I mean everywhere... the guy was wearing khakis and it looked like he spilled a big glass of water on him! And the best part about all of this was that he didn't know what to do so he started squirting himself with a bottle of DISINFECTANT that they use to clean accidents on the floor up with!!!

Now I know I'm not very tolerant of badly behaved kids, I'm not a parent myself and have no intention of being one and yet I can kind of forgive kids because he's adorably cute and I want to pet him every time I see him too and they have to be taught to behave.

But my REAL pet peeve is when the parents are there, and I'm trying to get the kids to calm down (ie: "let him sniff your hand first" or "sit on the ground and let him come to you") that they parents don't do anything to enforce the boundaries I'm laying out. Allowing there kids to get away with anything and then glaring at me if I have the cheek to be firm with their kids.

I had one kid who kept trying to pick him up and squeeze my dog, which obviously I don't allow, and his mother actually "tisk" at me when after telling her kid three times he couldn't pick up my dog, and he still does, I used a firm voice and told him "No!" and took the dog off him.

Now I just avoid walking him after 3pm until it gets dark to ensure I don't have to deal with that.
I feel them same I let the kids know that they need to sit on the ground and hold there hand out let the pups sniff them and come to them. Never pick them up. They don't like kids to pick them up. If they can't do this then they don't get to see them. I took Kodi to my Daughters daycare a few times and I had the kids stand in line and use the two fingers pet (Pointer and middle fingers only) all others fingers tucked away. A few were to excited and i would not let hem pet him till the calmed down. It worked out ok if I stayed in control.

Wow, I know that feeling... And Yes, I cant stand when parents do not make their children mind.... I even ask the kids not to put their faces in the puppies faces.. I mean.. Mine have never acted like they would EVER bite anyone.. but you just dont ever know if there could be a first.. So I just avoid taking a chance on it. I had this Child after saying that .. Put his face in Rascals.. and Rascal Licked his Mouth... the child laughed and Rascal licked in his mouth... Wellllllllllll, Right before that Rascal pooped and ate part of it before I could stop him... LOL... I am sorry, but I laughed and didnt say a word... I have 3 skin girls of my own.. but that is what he gets.. Even though him or his mother knew it or not.

Not homophobic? If it had been a black woman would you have said 'BLACK woman?"

Maybe she meant gay as in happy

Kyle, I don't think she meant it to be offensive or homophobic. Sometimes we open our mouths and say things (or type them) without thinking that they may carry a different notation for other people than us.

She meant no offense using the words nice 'gay' shoes. It just meant they were nicer than a guy normally wears. Most men don't give a dang about their shoes...

Lets be nice, you can totally see she did not mean it in a derragatory way, she was trying to give you an idea of the picture she was telling.

Their eyes get big and say thats CRAZY! Or Come on, I mean they are really cute , but that much for a DOG! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I actually had my mother ask me and then I told her around about how much and that my hubby and daughters all pitched in... {Mind you, I have been wanting a Yorkie for Years!} She then said "Must be nice, I am struggling w/ bills" I was soooooooo Upset!
Joy i know how you feel... I have had family and friends ask me how much did you pay for him... I just say A LOT!!!!! HUH Why do people care??? You know...there they are, really enjoying this cute little puppy and then they have to go and ask a rude question like that!

Default On or off leash

How bought the people whos huge dogs are off leash and you are walking along and see this giant dog racing toward you and you have just enough time to scoop up your baby before he gets body slammed!!! Then the huge dog jumps all over you to get to your dog, (sliming you in the process)almost knocking you down and you are ready to kill the owner as they say... oh don't worry he won't bite!!!! Nothing like going out for a breath of fresh air and some exercise !!!!! HUH GRRRRRRR.....

It drives me crazy when people pet Maddie the wrong way. LOL Instead of going with the hair flow, they do the opposite.... It totally drives me nuts. Or they pet her in circles. The guys at my work are really bad at this. LOL I'm nuts.

I'd have to agree with you on that. I used to slap my ex-bf's hand when he would pet Howie the wrong way! How neurotic am I??
