| ![]() Sometimes the breeders can just miss them if they are hidden with all the hair that is on their legs. Diamond's were removed when she was a baby by my breeder but only her front legs. I noticed a couple months back that she had them on her back legs. When I asked the breeder about them, she told me she could have sworn she checked back there and she must have missed them...she felt embarrassed though for not getting them. When I got Diamond spayed at 7 months, she had her dewclaws removed as well and she didn't seem to be in much pain, they just wrapped each back leg up with a bandage and put stitches there. They healed very nicely. How old is your baby? |

| ![]() Pixie has both hers on the front legs... I had asked my vet about having them removed and he stated it was unnecessary for her. Hers lay very close to her leg and I keep the nail well trimmed so the risk of getting them caught on something is very small (especially in my 100% hardwood/linoleum house). Charlie has one on his front leg. I have a feeling the breeder removed both of them and that one grew back. Since it isn't floppy and sticks close the leg, I'm not concerned about it. |
