| so workingin a vets office isnt always sugar!! so I had a good day today except a couple things. 1. we put an older dog down tonight. It was very very hard for me. I wrapped her in a blanket and loved on her before the doctor PTS. the clients werent there, so I felt like the last human touch she would remember was love, maybe thats just me 2. had a litter of 6 week old kittens come in 3 of them. very very sick. should be eating but wouldnt. so right away 1 died. after treatments i thought they were going to make it, but then the 2 one died. I bottle fed the last, warmed it up and all that and I just have a feeling when I get there in the morning it wont be. these kittens are almost at the age where they should be given away and its soo sad. sooo sorry just had to tell someone. !! ( that understands))

| That would be such a tough job! But someone great, like you, has to do it.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | How sad. But it sounds like you are a very caring person and will comfort all the sick babies that come through the door.

| awwwwwwww that's so sad, and I'm sorry you had a bad day. When my kids were younger, we had a cat that got very sick with a kidney problem. It was a stray that we took in and had for several years. We spent tons of money keeping him healthy, but he eventually got too sick. The vet recommended putting him to sleep. My kids were young and were heartbroken. The vet let the kids come in and spend some time with the cat and say goodbye, which I thought was really nice. It was so sad. |

they do this where i work too, but some owners its just too hard to say goodbye and I understand plus some people wanna remember their pet alive and happy not dying!! i have to respect that, but I dont think the pet should just die alone either. I will try my best to comfort them, thats the least I can do!!

| That's gotta be tough. I'm another one that could never work in a vet's office. I don't know how people do it. I guess some of us are such softies. I'm afraid I'd be crying most of the time. I think it takes a special person and I'm confident that the little animals whose lives are ended there are lucky to have you caring for them in their last moments.

| When Kacee was just a couple of pounds, we were sitting in the waiting room at the vet's. All of a sudden there was all of this howling and barking and carrying on. I had to take her outside for awhile because I could see she was beginning to get really nervous and I didn't want her to be scared to go to the vet's. Turns out it was this big lug of a dog just being a big baby because she was taking a bandage off his leg! She said he always carries on like that.

| I can only imagine how hard it would be to work at a vet's office. I give you respect for doing so.

| Ohhhh, reminds me of my days working at the vet office myself- total of 5 years. I loved it and miss it still. It was hard work. You get a little dirty, have to see some sad things, but overall I knew we were helping so many animals. My vet was even written up in the vet journal for saving this doberman's life. The dog ate a pair of pantyhose - I had to wash it off after it was in its stomach - groce and take pictures of it for his article. But cool how we saved the dog's life. He would have died soon if we had not operated. My jobs - Lets see ... I took xrays, gave shots, counted white blood cells (can't be disturbed while doing this), operated the gas and oxygen during operations, sometimes cut stitches for the vet when he was stiching up during operation, tapped dobe's ears, cleaned kennels, answered phones and did some reception work. Of forgot, groomed dogs and cats. yep! did it all! Hint - don't put anything you want to eat in the freezer - just don't. |

| I know things like that can't be easy for you, but I am thankful for people like you working at the vet's clinic. Some people are just there for the pay, but you take these little ones into your heart and give them special attention and love that they are needing for whatever reason they are there. Bless your heart!!!
