I did this once and I will regret it for the rest of my life. I had a cat named snowball, a very loved member of the family, one of a kind that you only see once in a life time. Do to alot of several kidney problems we decided to put him down, we could not stand to see him suffering. I did not want to watch or be with him, it was just too heartbreaking at the moment. Now I wish I was there, that way he could have gone to sleep peacefully in loving and familiar arms. I have always regretted it and will never let any other pet be put to sleep without being in my arms.
