| ![]() I just read this thread and I've got a story to add! I moved to the city where I now live 2 years ago for school. I had rented an apartment that I only looked at for a couple minutes while someone else was living in it. That someone else was VERY messy, and I just thought it'll look so much better when the place is empty and I can move in! Well, when I walked in, I almost cried. Nothing was clean, there were cracks in the walls, half of the electrical outlets didn't even work! I was stuck there for a couple of weeks before my mom came down to help me look for a new place. While I was there, so many creepy things happened. I heard the floor squeak in the middle of the night, I heard water running when there was no water running, and worst of all I was having a nap one day in the middle of the afternoon with my bedroom door TIGHTLY closed, and it burst open. There were no open windows. I was so scared I couldn't move. When my mom came down, I didn't mention anything because I felt like she would think I was crazy. The first night she stayed there she was sleeping on the couch in the living room, and she kept the bathroom light on with the door just open a crack so she could find her way in the middle of the night. The next morning she told me she heard creaking noises and the little sliver of light from the bathroom kept growing and shrinking... the door was opening and closing. She got up and shut off the light and didn't sleep all night! Luckily I got out of there fast and haven't had any problems since. And now I've got my yorkie to protect me!

| ![]() I think Lola senses ghosts in my house also. She has been waking up around the same time everynight to bark, growl, and whine furiously. Sometimes it's because the neighborhood cats come scavenging around my place for food and Lola hears the noises. Sometimes its nothing at all. She will be at the door, furious, very angry and intent, and not leave for 15 or so minutes! I tell her its ok, but other than pausing, it does her no good. I really don't know what to do, I'm sure the neighbors aren't exactly enjoying the midnight barking. ![]() |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() Well I have a couple of stories also. One time when I was around 3-5 yrs old my mom, my brother and I would all sleep in the one bedroom that we had. My mom would sleep in the living room and me and my brother shared the room but she would sometimes sleep with me cause I was scared. Well we had bunkbeds at the time and I was on the bottom bunk with my mommy. My brother was on the top bunk. In the middle of the night I just woke up for no reason. I don't know if this counts as a ghost story but all of a sudden there was a figure that opened my bedroom door. It looked like a very hairy monster. It was covered with hair from head to toe. It just kinda stood at the door and peeked in the room. I was so little and scared but confused at the same time. I thought it could be my dad in a costume (lol) since he had the key and visited everyday but didn't live with us. So i said "daddy". The monster then left my room and afew seconds later peeked back in. I thought who else could it be. My Godmother lived across the hall so I said her name "Rosie". The monster left again and I tried to wake up my mom quietly by poking her and pinching her. I thought if I made noise the monster would get me. My mom did not wake up and the monster peeked in a third time. I said whoevers name came to mind, then I said "Who are you??" The monster left and I didn't see it again. I was so scared and little and wondered why everytime I said something the monster left. This is a true story, no lie. I told my mother the story once when I was like 13 and she said It was probably a dream but I know it wasn't 'cause I remember it so clearly and I can never remember a dream that good, especially after so many yrs! I have other stories but I have to switch computers cause my laptop keyboard is hard to press. |

"Chiggers are tiny (most can only be seen with a magnifying glass) and red, and they are a type of mite. Mites aren't insects - they are arachnids and part of the same family as spiders, scorpions, and ticks. Chiggers are found all over the place, including in grassy fields, along lakes and streams, and in forests. There are adult chiggers and baby chiggers (called larvae), but only the baby chiggers bother people and animals. Chiggers have tiny claws that allow them to attach tightly onto people and animals. Once attached, they are able to pierce the skin and inject their saliva, which contains digestive juices that liquify skin cells. The chigger then slurps up the liquified skin cells. To the chigger, this is a tasty meal! Having a chigger do this is very irritating to your skin. After a few days, the chigger will be done feeding and fall off a person's skin, leaving behind a red welt where it had once been." | |
