| wow, I've read/heard about puppy mills and knew NEVER to buy from these under any circumstance but I've never seen a real mill like this...Zoe and I watched in horror! It's sad what we've done to our pets... Every time I take Zoe to the mall, everyone stops us and ooh and aw at her and asked if I get her at the mall and I say heck no, do you know where they come from?.... and educate them about mills. I sure hope people like Villette continye ti spread the word. Thanks for sharing V. We got our Zoe from a local breeder here in San Diego. the woman and her husband were a great family with kids and about 8 yorkie pets whom she sells pups. You can tell she loves her yorkies and that they're well cared for hence, the sweet spunky, playful girl we got that was in perfect health! We were able to see their living conditions (they lived in her home) and how they were cared for and see her parent's temperment.

| I couldn't watch the whole thing, especially after I saw the awful condition of the dogs. It's so sad that these dogs have to live in such awful conditions. What I find so hard to understand is how the owners can look at these dogs and not feel sick themselves. How can someone do this to any living thing? Maybe one way to limit the exploitation of these dogs would be to work toward preventing pet shops from selling them. If other countries can do that, why not the US? Recently a bill was passed to protect animals that need to be rescued, as in disasters like Katrina. There are many more animals that need rescuing that are now in pet shops throughout the country. What also concerns me is what happens to the pet shop dogs that are not sold. How long do they keep them in those tiny cages? Sure, it appears that they are in clean conditions (from the outside) but what's the real story when the doors are closed? They need personal, caring attention which I'm sure they don't receive! |

| WOW! That video is so touching. I almost got to tears when seeing the long coated chihuahua attack its cage mate while they were both trying to eat. |

| i couldnt watch all the video, (my computer is being weird) but i agree TOTALLY i think that puppy mills are disgusting! i do not see how any human could keep hundreds of dogs in cages and force them to reproduce. It makes me cry when i read about these things there is a petstore at a mall near my home it is a little room with dogs all around the sides it is thee cages high and they go all the way down to the "play rooms" it is always full of people and always full of little puppys sleeping in metal cages full of feces. I really hope that one day people will open their eyes and see that this is wrong. Thank You Velvet for spreading the word! |

| Heartbreaking! Whether you have one cage or a hundred, it is cruel to raise a dog in a cage even if they receive the proper vet care and it is clean. I wouldn't purchase from anyone who utilizes cages. |

IF we ALL took the time to let people know where most pet stores get their dogs - then MAYBE people would stop buying - therefore - putting a huge crunch in the Mills pockets - right where it would hurt the most. Pet Stores are the LARGEST BUYER of Puppy Mill puppies. It's just a fact - I know people may think some pet stores are "OK" but in order to stop this - they ALL need to be preventing from selling dogs and other living creatures. | |

| Thank u V thanks for the video. U know I never really knew what puppy mills really where untill I saw this. U have opened my eyes and I have seen the light. It is terrible that these poor animals are treated this way and some people even support it. I personally will look into this more to see what I can do to help and hopefully someday we will be able to put a stop to Puppy mills. Thanks again for letting me know how severe this really is...It just breaks my heart...

| Villette That was very enlightening. They all make me sick. I don't think that stopping the sale of pets in pet shops is going to stop puppy mills, although that is a start. What about Jeff Dane, and all those like him? They don't have pet shops, they use the internet. Look how long PETA has been trying to educate people. It is a much larger problem than the pet stores. It needs to be in the news more often, the media needs to do more coverage on the subject. People just refuse to believe that those cute little puppies in the stores come from those horrific places. |

I have an idea V! We should all get together...go to one of these discusting puppy mills, take the dirt bags (opps! did I say that out loud !) and put THEM in these ridiculously small, wire floored cages where they can't move and let them have to sit in their own s**t. And when they are sick or injured just leave them there and let their bones heal crooked and be in pain for the rest of their lives. When we feel we have kept them around long enough... EUTHANIZE!!(sp?) them...
