| how many take yorkies on travel Was wondering, how many of you travel for work or pleasure and take your Yorkie? Do you leave them in the hotel when you have to go to work or out? My breeder says she leaves the tv on, dogs in cages, and Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I have to travel sometimes and they wouldn't be alone long, but would have to leave them in the room suzie |

| I have taken Bailey on several company trips and there are plenty of pet friendly hotels out there, especially the Holiday Inn. Do a search on here and you should find some threads about it. Good luck.

| Yes, I do. I have taken Bailey on 3 trips so far. I'm really lucky that she isn't a barker so I have no problem leaving her in the room for short periods 2-3 hour stretches. I take her for a good walk just before I leave and she seems to be quite tired out. She is also use to staying at home alone while we work, so I guess she uses her time for beauty sleep

| I haven't traveled with Bailey yet - have a 2-day trip coming up in July. I just had to respond to have 3 Baileys in a row responding on this thread. |

| travel I coach skating (as some of you probably could tell) I planned on taking Sparks when I got hime...everywhere I could. If I am at a competition far away, I get a hotel close to the rink and am in and out of the hotel. I may have one skater skating one time...but that will take maybe 30min-1hr and then another 2 hours later. etc. So they would only be alone 1-3 hours and I would be in and out and walk them plenty. I tried coaching with him in a purse but the people go too crazy over him. It's not him that's the problem...it is the people that go nuts around him because he's so cute. He is terrible closed up in a bag (unless his head is poking out)but great sitting in the stands watching skating and great if I leave him athome. I think he would behave really well in a hotel room and when I get my other pup...even better for company. I was thinking that when I just go to the rink and watch skating, take them in their bag and then sit in the stands with a blanket around us and give them a chewy (after they've been walked). Do you think that would be too strange? I see tons of skating people at the rinks carrying around their little dogs under their arms. The only thing about the hotels that I worry about is someone breaking in and stealing them. I would keep them confined so they couldn't destroy anything...but I worry about thieves. suzie |

| We take a portable baby play pen with us and when we have to leave Mitzi alone in the hotel room she goes in there with her toys, treats and water. We put the "do not disturb sign" up. That works very well for us and we don't have to worry if somebody goes into the room. Motel 6 takes pets and you can find some on petfriendly.com. Have fun traveling! |

| great idea! Hey...that's a great idea. I have a pack and play that has never been used just sitting here. The maids won't come into the room for sure if there is a sign on the door? I found pet friendly hotels both places I am going so far (Red Roof and Swiss Acres) suzie |

| I have 2 granddaughters who play softball. They are 13 and 15 and one is a pitcher and one a catcher. They play on a traveling team for their town that goes all over to play. Last year we went to Colorado because they won 1st place in the state level and went to Colorado for the regionals and then to New Jersey for the Nationals. Needless to say they are pretty good players and we love to watch them play. We drove to a town about 200 miles from us this last weekend to watch them play a tournament. It was a Saturday & Sunday tournament so we stayed the night. I took Jasmine with me. She was so good. Like Yorkieskater said, the only problem was that everyone stops to make over her, but she is so friendly and just loves everyone. I worried about her getting too hot at the ball fields but kept water for her and kept her in the shade and she did fine. I plan on taking her to all the games I can, particuarly the ones where we stay the weekend as I know she would be very unhappy if we left her. She is so close to us. She really is like our baby. |
