| I found 3 yorkies today! My husband and I took our two babies (skin and fur) to the park as we always do everyday and my son saw a yorkie in the street so we picked her up. After we picked her up, another came running towards us. My husband didn't know who it belonged to and didn't want it to get hurt so he chased after it. After catching it, we found that both yorkies didn't have any kind of identification on them. My husband decided to go on and do what we always do (set up Buttercup's expen and play tennis) and we thought maybe the owners would show up. After 2 hours, no one came looking for them. As we were walking to our car (with the 2 that we found) another was sitting in the middle of the street, so we picked him up. He had fleas, ticks, a collar with a metal chain (one that you chain a pitbull up with) but no identification. As soon as we got home, we made signs with pictures and posted it everywhere around the neighborhood. We got tons of calls and emails! But how do we know who is that actual owner? What do we do now? |

| I would make them identify them. Ask them what type of collar they had on, whether they are male or female. Ask them the names and see if they come to you by the names that the people give. You can also check to see if they are microchipped.. I believe that most vets can check this. Good luck finding the real owners. |

| I forgot to mention, what do I do with one that has fleas and ticks? I don't want the others to get any of that. My husband said the best place for him was in the laundry room by himself. What do you guys think? |

| My buttercup isn't on any kind of fleas or tick prevention. His vet says that if he doesn't have any then I should use anything. I don't know about the ones that I've found. I really don't know what to do now. What if I can't find the actual owners? Do I keep them? Do I give them up for adoption? |

| I would give them all a flea bath asap! You can use Dawn dish soap if you don't have a flea shampoo, it works! You are probably going to get tons of calls saying those are someone's dog & it isn't. People like to snatch up yorkies whenever they can! So be careful & make sure to ask tons of questions about how the dog looks, size, markings, everything! Have you been wanting more yorkies? If you don't find the rightful owner then you could keep them! Wow, 3 yorkies in one day!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That is so weird to find 3 in one day!! Do you think they are from the same place. Do they seem to know each other? I would also call the local police and animal control to report them. I would be afraid of giving your baby whatever thay have so if possible keep them isolated. Please keep us posted on these babies.

| You could ask (quiz) them on the type of collar....Ask them if they had on a red collar and if they say yes, then you know that they aren't the real owners, but if they say..... They had on a chain collar then they are the real ones!!!! Hope I helped! *Lauryn* |

| Got alot of great advice, if it was one of mine I would have ads up everywere. Could be they were taken and not even from around were you found them. Lucky that you all picked them up or they might never get home.

| Wow, they are lucky to have found you!! I'd be careful who you give them to. Be positive they are the real owners. If they lie to get a free dog you might not want the dog in their hands. And what if the real owners show up later. And like someone else said I'd give them all flea baths and carefully pick off the ticks. Let us know what happens, and ya know... if you don't find their owners... you may just have yourself 3 more Yorkies!! But rescue groups are great and I'm sure if you decide to you could find them awesome homes on YT! Good luck!

| my suggestions: Wow...3...what a find for you! For starters...You would figure the yorkie owners would have some kind of pictures of them. I have sooooo many pictures of my babies I can't even count them anymore! Ask the people who claim to be the owners if they have any pictures to prove ownership! Ask if they were reported missing to any local shelters but beware...someone might have seen your flyers and called the shelter to back up their story of missing pets!!! I had that happen and we let a dog go to the wrong person who had just seen the flyer and made calls to back up their lies. look for marks, scars, anything that can identify them...maybe even something that stands out...like an obvious thing...hair cut a certain way...ears shaved on the tips even a sanitary buzz. My yorkies all have identifying marks I can use to prove ownership and to top it off they are microchipped!!! I wouldn't let people see the babies until they can accurately identify them! And do check your local vet for microchips or reports of missing yorkies...they may belong to a client. On the other hand it sounds like at least the one was treated cruely so you may consider how you handle that one! I would also have that one treated for fleas and bath and remoe the ticks because you don't want that risk of disease spreading and the longer they stay on that baby the more he/she is in a health risk for lime disease or other diseases! Good luck and keep us posted on what happens!!! :-) ~Tru

| Wow, those babies were lucky to be found by you. I hope you find the rite owners. If not I guess you have 3 new babies or put them for adoption here or take them to a Yorkie rescue. I agreed you should give them a flea bath and keep them separate from Buttercup until they are check by a vet. Good luck. |
