| New question about drinking water Does everyone else's yorkie drink water good? Kizzy does not drink a lot of water. Sometimes she will drink it ok but other days she seems to just not want water. she likes ice so i put a peice of ice in it to try and get her to drink more. But on the days she dont drink it, her urine is too yellow i think. any one else ever notices this about their puppy?

| The yellower pee is a sign that she is not drinking enough water. It doesn't actually mean that she is dehydrated at this point because the reason her urine is darker is that her body is conserving water. Try adding water to her food this will help. I would also physically take her to the water bowl throughout the day. My mom also puts ice in her dog's water. She watched mine while I went out of town and when I came home, mine was looking at the water dish and barking at me. At first, I thought it was empty, then I thought maybe it wasn't fresh, then my mom called and wanted to know why K.C. was barking I explained the situation and my mom said Oh, he wants ice cubes in his water!! Well that was the problem. |

| Mine seem to drink quite abit, but if for some reason I think they are not drinking enough on a certain day, I add just a little Karo, not much, just to taste. They love it.

| Princess loves water, drinking it or swimming in it. I think she might be part She's not too fond of tap water, so I always make sure to have fresh water for her.

| Options: -Ice cubes make drinking sessions interesting for young, healthy dogs -Change the temperature of the water, some dogs have sensitive teeth-play w/ temperature differences and offer them to her and see if she's partial. -If H20 isn't her "thing", then you can supplement that w/ flavored water or juice. -You can go one step further and offer her purified water (as opposed to tap) or simply give her Pedialyte as a substitute for her water. Just some ideas. |

| Toto insists that her water always be fresh so I put down a clean bowl of fresh bottled water several times a day. I never, ever give her tap water and we always bring along the same brand bottled water that we have given her all her life. She sometimes gets food in her water off her mustache and she will just stand at her water bowl and look at me like "hey, you wanna get a clean bowl?" Do you suppose she is spoiled?!?

| Sissy does't drink often, but we have a bowl in the kitchen and usually after exertion she will catch a little sip. I encourage her to drink more by filling a dixie cup everytime I'm in the bathroom and she is near. I put it on the floor and she will usually take a few laps.

| Good idea! We just got in the habit of using bottled water because we travel so much. Water in some areas of the country upset our stomach. Your idea of it going through the filter on your frige is great. Maybe Kizzy will begin drinking more as the weather gets warmer.

| Oscar drinks a lot of water. I guess his bowl holds about a cup and I refill it every day. You always know when he's been drinking too...he will come running and put that wet mustache all over you! Oh, and he pees accordingly as well!
