| I think that is so precious they you would ask for a gift for your baby for your b-day. I have been worried about Buckeye and Ahia jumping out the window on my husband. I am over protective and he says they are fine. He says I need to let them be dogs. Buckeye has jumped out of the window of the truck into my arms when I was saying good bye to my husband at work. They both are in the way when I go through a drive-thru. The people who wait on me are not much help, ooh and ahh all over the place. So I bought a couple of seat belts for them. Especially handy when we are on a long trip and don't want to (or can't because of heat) leave them in the car to eat so we grab eats and eat while on the go. They want our food and crumbs. With the seat belts they are out of the way and it is safer for all. I am glad it all came out ok.

| Glad your furbabie is going to be ok. They do thing sometimes that make me just sit there with my mouth open I got one of those carseat so they could see out the window. The ones I found at Petco could only be hooked to the front seat, so I took them back. I didn't read the box . I liked them but with two dogs I needed to have two. Where did you all get your seat belt hooks. Maddie lays in the back but if she is in the front she wants to be on me and it scares me if I have a wreck. Rudy also has to be on me and it is interesting trying to drive with two Yorkies on you. Haven't seen the belts where they were small enough for a yorkie. Any info where I can get the seat belt would be appreciated............Cindy |

| I got mine at petsmart. The type I bought attaches to your seat blet and to the dogs harness. They have other once that are very expensive like 40.00 canadian it is a harness that attaches to the seat blet. They both work the same. At least know I now the seat boster is not a good idea for me either we have two dogs as well. I let them ride in the back seat of the jeep. |

| my car harnesses are made by guardian gear. i bought them off the internet a place called petedge. fits down to a 7" girth. $4.99. I don't know if you need smaller or not but it wouldn't be hard to make your own if you can find the set belt part. I am always trying to find ways to make my own things to save. My brother says I am a bird..I'm cheap cheap cheap. LOL

| I believe ALL dogs should be harnessed and attached to the back seat belt at all times when riding in a car. Our girls have been trained from the start that the manner in which to ride in a car is to be safely hitched in, as we did our kids and do our grandkids. They are a "precious package" and therefore should be attached in the back seat. They will get used to the idea, small trips around the neighborhood might get them trained easier. We have a small strap that one end attaches to the seat belt, while the other end of it attaches to their regular harness. I can't imagine what whould happen in a car accident, those poor babies would be on the loose and GONE if not restrained. Its not going to hurt them, not to be able to see out the window. We have our girls in our grandaughters old carseat and it works out fine. They both sit in it and have enjoyed all the rides, they can even see whats passing by. They can't jump over the side of the baby seat like they could in one of those so called "for pets" window seats. And I would NEVER attach them to the head rest, if they jumped up on the top of the seat, and accidently fell off to the back, they might be left hanging and you better be alert for that to happen too. Well, I just thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth here also. I am very against any dog running loose in a car or riding on laps. That is the most dangerous situation to loose your pet. PLEASE RESTRAIN THEM IN VEHICLES, they will live longer. |

| For those of you that are looking for a CHEAP ! CHEAP ! way to harness your Yorkie to the back seat, just buy a regular small harness that they should be wearing anyways at the pet store or Walmart and then buy a large nylon dog collar ( about 1" wide ) thats adjustable type & clips to lock and run it thru the harness part above the hook and back out again ,then run the large collar thru the seat belt and clip it together to lock it. In our RV we harness the carseat to the sofa with a strap running horizontal to hold the carseat in place with them in it and I can see them from where I'm riding. Never , Ever leave them alone, just like kids they find trouble. Take short trips at first to get them used to the idea of sitting down and riding. They WILL get used to it . You can adjust the length of the large collar so they are comfortable laying down. I've never had a problem with my two babies I strap up in my grandaughters old carseat, they can't jump out and are safely in place. I also have one of those mirrors they sell in the baby department on my visor to see them at all times. Please keep them SAFE ! Last edited by Yorkie24U; 10-30-2004 at 07:01 PM.
