| Pauldo, Im so sorry that you have to go thru all that. It is so sad that some "so called breeders" only care for the money and not the well being of the pup. Good luck in your Stud search. Thank you for warning others. Hopefully others wont fall for these scam artists. Lacy's Mom, Congratulations in your addition. I had to agreed with Stewies mom, is a good thing that the mom wasn't 2lbs. I think 2 lbs is way to small to breed. Enjoy your new girl, she sounds very smart. Can't wait to see pics of your little one. |

| This has been so fascinating to read. I have a dog from that breeder. I didn't buy him directly from her though. I bought him from a young girl that bought him, had him shipped to California, had him for a few months and then decided she couldn't have a dog anymore because she was going off to college. Anyway, she gave me his AKC papers and the documents she had regarding his shipping, both of which had the name Merri Chaffin on them. So, of course, I googled the name and found their ads and website. The first thing I noticed is that they have 3 different breeds, are USDA certified, and make no mention of the parent dogs on the web site. Yikes! My first thought was, my little Titan is a puppy mill baby. Well, it doesn't change anything. He's a beautiful little boy and we love him dearly. Anyway, I just thought it was interesting to see this name pop up. Small world, isn't it?

| Yes it is a small world! I'm glad you're happy with him. Tiko's parent's names are Snicker (Dam) and Oilye (Sire). Just curious -- what's the size and colouring of your male? |

| Titan's parents are (sire) Rose's Andre and (Dam) Bobby Jo H. At almost 11 months he is about 4.5 lbs so I imagine he is close to done gaining weight. Here's a recent pic (same pic I used in another thread).

| Hi Dawn - he's a really cute little guy. If I ever learn how to post pictures, I'll include pictures of my yorkies too. |

| In reply to red98vet: "I don't have a problem with his size ... that's a chance everyone takes that has a preset notion" I agree that it's impossible to know with complete accuracy the size of a puppy as an adult, and I find my 6lb male adorable -- however, the reason I do have a problem with his size is that the breeder lied about the puppy's age when giving me the weight at 7 weeks, and then continued to mislead me about his future size when she knew I needed a small male for breeding. As customers we have the right to be given the most accurate information about our purchase instead of being told what the breeder thinks we want to hear. We rely on the breeder's expertise and although we all know that the breeder can not guarantee a certain size or characteristic, they should be held accountable to a certain standard of honesty. . | Thanks for everyone's encouragement and support. Just thought i would let you know that i have now sent letters about this whole thing (Chaffin Raised kennel) to the American Kennel Club, American Canine Association, Oklahoma Pet Professionals and several Oklahoma Kennel Clubs? Is there anything I've missed? |

| Probably won't get much of a response, but you could drop an email to their web site designer http://www.inspireddesignsusa.com/ and do a report back to Google (who tend to be quite good when it comes to websites they host involving people threatening to shoot other people). I'm assuming you've let the law enforcement officials in the town/state where he lives know too. It sounds a bit extreme, but he seems like the most shocking individual and it would probably be in their best interests to know too. It sounds like a truly appalling story and I'm sorry you had to go through it. I showed my husband your post and he said it's one of the most disgraceful things he's ever seen. So sorry you had to go through all of that and I think you're wonderful for keeping that little boy. You've basically saved him from those awful people Can you imagine if that man is like that with people, what's he like with the poor animals in his 'care'? I think you should report him to the local chapter of the ASPCA and the local Department of Agriculture officials too just for good measure. You could also drop a line to whatever the local newspaper is too. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with it Annie & Badger x |

| Good point ("what he's like with the poor animals in his care"), and lots of good ideas that I never thought of. Thank you. (Yes the police here contacted the sheriff's office in Atoka, Oklahoma -- so they have the incident on record). |

| I received the below as a private message from a yorkie talk member, so I'm excluding the name. Cissye Chaffin -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with the Chaffins. I know first hand that they are TERRIBLE people. Before I knew much about Yorkies, I got my first one from them. That experience taught me what NOT to do, and the type of people that I shouldn't deal with. Many of the things that happened to you, happened to me as well. Unfortunately, they will continue to do the awful things that they do, and there is not a whole lot that hurt customers like ourselves can do about it. I think that your post here was a great idea, and certainly no one who reads it will ever buy from the Chaffins. I just thought I should let you know that you are not the first person to have horrible problems with Cissye. I feel awful for all of the dogs that she has. They are housed outside and undoubtedly not well taken care of. I'm sorry this is brief, because I could certainly say a million more horrible things about this "breeder." Please keep in contact. I'd LOVE to know what happens in the future. __________________ |
