| Hi Tammy, I bought Aggie also from NextDayPet. My breeder didn't have a website. I was, of course hesitant about giving someone money and ending up with no puppy. Before contacting this breeder, I have made several calls to other breeders with websites and great looking puppy pictures. But, there was just something about them that didn't make me "jump through the hoop" to get the puppy. I decided to make the plunge and call this breeder with no website. Our first conversation was great. She made me feel very comfortable and never hesitated to answer my questions. When I asked her for references, she sent them to me. I even spoke to the other buyer on the phone! We also exchanged over 30 emails to settle all the "papers": health gurantees, payment, travel arrangements, etc. All in all, my experience was very pleasant. Aggie's personality turns out to be EXACTLY what she had told me. In fact, I'm planning to purchase a second puppy from her the end of this year. Sorry for the long posting... But, I'd say go with your gut feeling and never hesitate to ask any questions or ask for references, or ANYTHING. If you feel hesitations from the breeder that they're not forthcoming, forget it. Move on to the next one. |

| Hi, I have been looking for a Yorkie for a while now. BE VERY VERY careful when you get emails from Africa or saying there a sister or brother of a Church and just want to sell the pup to donate the money..THEY ARE SCAMS!!!. If it SOUNDS to good to be true, it probably is... Me, being in Germany right now (hubby's in the Army) Its a bit harder to sniff out a scam, scent taking to a breeder here is HARD.. I don't speak German. Right now, I am looking for one back home. ALSO don't buy from yorkiepup.com, he is a puppy mill and dose not care about you or the dog. ALL he wants it the MONEY. Ask around on YT, there has been MANY of people who have gotten a sick dog that has die a week or two later. Goggle his web page or you can search on YT and see what you find on him. Try the wanted and sell page of YT...GOOD luck in Yorkie hunting!! I am sure you will find the pup that was ment for you! |

| You're so right to be careful. Just recently someone posted on another board about getting a cash offer on their home. The woman said her fiancee was out of the country due to a family crisis, would get back in a couple weeks and wanted to pay cash up to 265K. The "sale" - if you could call it that - fell through when the fiancee was supposedly back in the country but stopped contacting the woman. Turned out her husband had run off on her a few months earlier & she found this supposed fiancee via the internet. Depressed about the breakup of her long-time marriage, she fell for sweet talk. She opened a bank account & sent him plane fare. She's out that & the small deposit she gave the home owners and could be sued for more. The home owners can't close on their new home either. Oh yeah - it was the homeowner who happened to ask her where she met the guy and where he supposedly was. That's when she spilled the beans. So humiliating. And yup - the guy was "visiting his mother" in Nigeria! If it seems fishy, it probably is! |

| I bought my yorky and scottie online but I also went to visit the breeders homes to check out the dogs and their living conditions and I am very pleased with my little guys.I thought it was important to buy a puppy within reasonable driving distance to get to know the family my pets were coming from and the pups and the parents are raised in a comfortable caring home.Cathy and Yoshi |

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Anything is possible. Thank-god, I didn't have a problem. I till this day, send my breeder pictures. I do foster care and she a lot of horrible things that you probably wouldn't even fantom so this would not surprise me in the least. Who knows why people do what they do.

| I have been look for about a year for a toy yorkie. I just cant seem to find what I'm looking for...Every once in a while I do stumble across what seems to be "the real thing" but I get scared to death because its an online thing. Does anyone out there know anything about Myprettyyorkies.com. or anywhere I won't get ripped off? |

! The search for a puppy can be so stressful and confusing, I know.Nope, don't buy from that person you're linking to above. They are advertising "Teacup Yorkies" - and there is absolutely no such thing. The standard for the yorkie breed is ANY WEIGHT 7 lbs or under, that's it. There is no category for "teacups / minis etc..." -- these are marketing terms used by and invented by breeders. Have you looked at the breed club - YTCA - yet...? You can look in your area and in other areas too as many of those breeders will fly their yorkies in cabin to you for a reasonable fee. Also, we do have a member here named Breny who breeds yorkies and partis in her home and people rave about her pups/dogs. She really loves her dogs and strives to maintain a great breeding program. Her profile is here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=12059 Save

They seem to be offering the same puppies (i.e. "Frank") & Frank is still on there as available puppy. Probably not the same puppy pictured (IMO they all look like stock photos), you will receive a different puppy. They probably lie about the age, CH bloodlines & so on. Another , they ship Worldwide.Ripoff Report | My Pretty Yorkies Complaint Review Baltimore, Maryland: 1317424 FRANK | Pretty Yorkies

| I have thought about buying online but ultimately decided against it. I just decided there were too many risks, from not getting a puppy to getting a sick puppy or one that is different from the picture. But one of my friends just got a puppy online last week and she's very happy. If you do decide to do this just be extra careful, if something doesn't feel right it probably isn't. Also just try to make sure the person you are buying from is reputable. |

Lucy I got off Craigslist she was free to good home and I did talk to her owner on the phone about Lucy she was 2yrs old and spayed he just got to busy with work to take care of her and he even brought her to me . He did check my vet references . So I guess I got lucky with Lucy. |

| For me the best option is visit the breeders to know more information and history of dogs that you want to buy. |

| I found our breeder online, and I was able to research her name to give me more confidence that she was a good breeder. I was also able to visit her home to see the parents and my puppy first, which made me feel a whole lot better. Visiting isn't always possible for a variety of reasons, but I would definitely want some good evidence that breeder is reputable before committing to a purchase.

| If you look on the AKC site, some breeder will usually post their litter on sale there. http://marketplace.akc.org/puppies?_...899.1440150761 From there, you can do the visual inspection of parents and how reputable the breeder are. Good luck in finding your perfect little one. |
