Help! Yorkie Chewing Baseboards/Furniture

My neighbor is beside herself and needs help. She has a 6 month old yorkie mix and 6 year old dachshund.
The yorkie is sweet, smart and very high energy. She has had private obedience training. She gets long walks 3 times a day is crate trained and has lots of chew toys.
Lately she has started chewing the baseboards, doors and furniture. She does this while they are home. Usually while they are eating dinner or cooking or just relaxing. They each work part time but the puppy is only alone in her crate no more than 2-4 hours about 3 days a week. She was in tears tonight because she doesn’t know why the puppy has started doing this to such an extreme at this time. She has always liked to chew on things but not like this. She has chew treats and hard and soft chew toys.
I told my friend I would post her situation here and hopefully someone has dealt with a similar problem. She also plans to call the trainer for suggestions.
The puppy has been spayed, has all vaccines and recent vet check up was good.
Any positive suggestions would be appreciated.

Is this the yorkie mix that you rehomed to your neighbor a while back? Not that it’s necessarily important to the question except that your earlier posts gave additional history.

Either way, I would suggest that the first step here would be a dental check. Many yorkies around that age have retained baby teeth, which could be causing pain if adult teeth are coming in behind and around them. The pain could lead to an increase in chewing.

Yes this is the puppy that was rehomed. All her extra baby teeth were pulled when she was spayed. They love this little girl and aren’t ready to give up on her yet.
I was wondering about raw marrow or knuckle bones from a butcher. They should last a long time and taste good.

She is a puppy and probably bored. When someone is not closely supervising her, she should be crated.
Probably needs more mental stimulation. It isn't just about chewing when they do this.
She may also have a bit of separation anxiety

Spraying Bitter Apple on things she is chewing may also help to deter.

I had pups that loved the taste of Bitter Apple, so don't be surprised if Bitter Apple doesn't work for this lil peanut.

She needs to be in a pen when she can not be watched. When she starts doing it she needs to be told a firm no and the give or distracted with a toy or chew. Puppies and dogs get into trouble when they are bored. Besides long walks she needs physical play time like chase the toy and play tug. Dog puzzles and kongs are good idea too. If she still won’t leave those things alone you can rub some deodorant on the baseboards. Just because she had her baby teeth removed does not mean that she doesn’t still have adult teeth coming in which is what would make her chew.

Raw is not safe you look at not only the dog getting sick with salmonella but the humans can too.

Greenies, bullysticks, and pig ears. If your puppy ignores them, try holding them. Your puppy will go to town on them, then just reward with boiled chicken. Eventually it will click what your puppy is allowed to chew on.

Just a little bit of a warning on the pig ears, there have been a lot of recalls on them the last year and half and they are very fatty so I would go more towards lamb ears or cow ears.

I haven't bought some in a while but when I buy them I look for USA made and sourced ones. I used to get some from I believe white bone dog company or something like that when I went to pet expos through the year but there were none of those events this year.
