| Nursing Home Visits Have started taking Gidget to a nursing home nearby for a visits. Went today for the 3rd time. The people and staff just love her. So far, I've kept her in her stroller which lets people pet her without her having to be out and about. I'm starting her on some private training lessons tomorrow aimed at how to behave at the nursing home. She gets so excited when she sees people and wants to be petted. I'm wanting her to be calm enough to be taken out of the stroller and put in patients laps or on their beds. Today, put her on the lap of a woman in a "laid back" wheel chair. Kept my hand on her the whole time but it gave the lady a chance to pet her. She told me if I ever needed for Gidget to have a new home that she would like to have her. She is so little and sweet and gives everyone there a few minutes of pleasure. Many of the residents already remember her name. I'd also like to teach her a few tricks that she can do outside the stroller--i.e. shake hands, roll over, stand up for treats, etc. I also want to work on her being held without getting all jumpy and excited. Right now, she sometimes gets excited and jumpy when I'm holding her and I'm afraid she'll jump out of my arms. Oh no--not a good thing. Some of them would love to hold her but not now. |

| These little ones bring such joy to others! Whenever we take them to my Mom's assisted living apartment they draw a crowd. My Mom revels in all of the attention that her "grandkids" attract.

| Just something to think about: One of the major advantages of going through a formal therapy class is the insurance that is provided or you can get. Protecting you, your dog and any residents is important. If ANYTHING were to happen you will be responsible.

| What a little honey you have...I'm sure you both bring such happiness to so many. I know that often times when I'm out with Piper, I'll watch stern faces change to softness and smiles as she approaches. These little ones bless us in countless ways. I love what you two are doing!!! |

| Just got back from a visit. She stayed in her stroller and let people talk to her and pet her. She stayed so excited the whole time. Right now, she's in her little bed sound asleep - just worn out from the afternoon activity. |

| This sounds so wonderful! Congrats to both of you and for bringing smiles and joy to the elderly Sometimes I think Casie would do well for this too. She's a super friendly gal (with people, not dogs). But I would be too afraid of someone holding her and dropping her by accident...
