| Also, what was the name of that harness everyone recommended? The escape proof one that they custom make for you? Is it made to be an exact fit? I ask because I finally adjusted her harness to make it tighter but "somehow" her harness got a little loosened. As for her itching, she scratched a few times and made a small cry sometimes she scratched. Gonna bathe her tomorrow with this shampoo my mom got her. Says its anti-itch and other stuff (didn't really read it much). I just spent 30minutes outside in the yard with her leash on to see if she'd "release" but she just didn't... she should had pooped and peed at least once more. My mom said to leave her in her cage until morning but I feel like taking her out one more time... She did the same yesterday though. Walked her around 8pm and she pooped but didn't pee... The last time she peed was 4 hours ago. She pooped twice today but that was it. She should had pooped one last time as I kind of overfed a little bit(a few spoonfulls). I intro'd her to sasha again and was fine. We let them in the same room as we were there and she seemed focused on me. Sasha was fine, but at some point when sasha walked away (uninterested) -- my dog started to growl at her and chased her a bit- to which sasha started to run again(she's the embodiment of a pacifist).. Will they ever get along or will I have to keep them separate? She never bit sasha because sasha ran, but also when my mom caught it she stomped on the floor and told her to stopped to which immediately got her attention and stopped. After which she left her alone but I took her away to the living room anyways and put up fences. Though she does seem to climb those doggy gates, her crate and just about anything... The cute thing about her that I seen is that when she poops she takes a few steps away and kind of those that thing cats do (as if she was kicking up sand/dirt with her four legs/paws). Kind of makes me wonder about her origin and what she was taught or if it was self taught or what.. Also forgot to ask... What are you guys preferred methods of keeping fleas, ticks and insects off your dogs.. and how do I know if mine had hers applied recently? If it was, can it be reapplied anyways or is it unsafe for her? Last edited by FlyingNimbus; 04-30-2017 at 05:03 PM. |

Pumpkin puree is good to have on hand since it helps with digestive problems. Apples make a good snack, and I've never seen a dog that didn't go crazy for cheese! I would think that as long as there isn't anything overly sugary or artificial she'll be healthy.

Now I just need to figure out the strongest, longest and safest (for pets and humans) flea, and tick repellents... I don't know how that stuff works, I've heard they have pills but I dont know how long each dose lasts.... Also, I don't know if and when they treated her for fleas/ticks so I dont know if I would be overdosing...

On the harness - are you thinking of the Buddy Belt, the leather one...? Kristin/Maximo sells those here. Regarding cheese - I wouldn't hesitate to use it for treats. I've never, ever had it cause any gas in dogs. If a dog is having gas, there is a reason for it...some ingredient is irritating their GI system. None of my dogs have ever even had gas at all. What is being fed to your Mom's dog? On rotating foods, yes, that's great! Get 2 or 3 smallest sized bags and just rotate btwn them every few days - so that meals / flavors taste new/different. Just remember to *always* save some novel proteins in case of allergies later. I don't treat for fleas. I only treat monthly for heartworm - just that and only that. I use Ivermectin (aka generic for Heartguard). How bad is the tick/flea problem in your area...? Do you need to treat for those?

As for the harness-- the person who sells them here is the maker? Is it possible to get them made with strong buckles? I just wanted it to be a perfect fit, and that the buckle doesn't break. I am tired of adjusting this piece of crap harness that I have... it's driving me crazy... I found out how to set it to a tighter setting but it always reverts to a looser setting.. I was hoping that the harness is a non-stretching fabric as she tends to pull sometimes and I just wanted it to stay in place, not move at all.... Too bad they don't make a belt made like those rolex wrist watches (but of course a much stronger- non-rusting metal that has a snug fit, and covered with a soft fabric to avoid chafing and discomfort... you know like a strong yet soft and comfortable fabric to cover it(and is removable). Would probably be the strongest harness I could think of. It wouldn't be like a chain link either so it wouldnt be that uncomfortable if it was bare. I sadly do not know how to do metal work so I couldn't make that myself. But would be nice. I have a strong fear of the dog -somehow- wriggling it's way out. She's like a little hoodini... and she bites at her harness sometimes... Which is why I also wanted it to be extra sturdy. I've been leaving the harness on all day and night so she gets used to wearing a harness and collar... but it's not easy.. As for cheese, my moms dog has a sensitive stomach so that might be that... but as embarrassing as it is... cheese gives me a bit of gas as well(depends).. so I thought this was just a normal occurrence for mammals.. She had a mess in her room today... she had just gone out and peed and pooped but 2 hours after she repeated... Also she's not an enthuastic eater...

| Here are a lot more photos added to the list. Hey guys, I just wanted to share more photos (some are mixed with the old ones-- since I just copypasta), I had to remove the stuffed toy because she started to bite off a piece of the orange leg of it(a very small piece) and she swallowed it... I also took off the blanket (it's an old blanket already) because I didn't want her to get intestinal blockage. Will she be alright? Also, if I ignored her for some time she would start biting at the walls... there's a little area in the wall that has a hole big enough for her head to fit into-- but there's nothing in the wall (long story) so it's not like she could eat that fiberfil crap... but I saw her gnawing at the hole. So now I am always vigilant and when I need to take a break I leave her in the crate. I recall people saying to me before about using sourapple when sasha started chewing the furniture legs... Would it work with the wall? She also likes to jump and is very good at it. Almost think she belonged to a circus at some point. lol. She likes to get on top of her crate and I am amazed that she just jumps onto the crate (she doesn't even need to climb-- she literary jumps-- kind of want to take a video). So she has some cat like tendencies. Here's the link as there's too many pictures to attach. Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet P.s. the floor is bare because of another long story (not related to the dogs). I started teaching her to sit. Also changed her name to Artemis because for some reason it's hard for my family to pronounce. Their common tongue pronounces it almost as well as you would in english. Going to change all of her toys for the kong toys... Found a jumpin' jack, balls, squeeky toys, the kong, the rubber flyer, etc. I know she won't be able to destroy them because sasha who is much stronger (thus probably has more bite strength) can't/couldn't destroy her kong toys (no matter how hard she tried) so I doubt she could. Also funny thing that she sniffed Sasha's butt yesterday and surprisingly Sasha snapped but all she did was just bark really loud like crazy and chased her back. When I was sitting down near her food she tried to sniff my butt (along with my back, hands, arms, legs, feet) it was rather funny. |
