On the harness - are you thinking of the Buddy Belt, the leather one...? Kristin/Maximo sells those here.

Regarding cheese - I wouldn't hesitate to use it for treats. I've never, ever had it cause any gas in dogs. If a dog is having gas, there is a reason for it...some ingredient is irritating their GI system. None of my dogs have ever even had gas at all. What is being fed to your Mom's dog?

On rotating foods, yes, that's great! Get 2 or 3 smallest sized bags and just rotate btwn them every few days - so that meals / flavors taste new/different. Just remember to *always* save some novel proteins in case of allergies later.

I don't treat for fleas. I only treat monthly for heartworm - just that and only that. I use Ivermectin (aka generic for Heartguard).

How bad is the tick/flea problem in your area...? Do you need to treat for those?

will the oil smell stick to her? I have a sensitive nose... ]
As for the harness-- the person who sells them here is the maker? Is it possible to get them made with strong buckles? I just wanted it to be a perfect fit, and that the buckle doesn't break. I am tired of adjusting this piece of crap harness that I have... it's driving me crazy... I found out how to set it to a tighter setting but it always reverts to a looser setting.. I was hoping that the harness is a non-stretching fabric as she tends to pull sometimes and I just wanted it to stay in place, not move at all....
Too bad they don't make a belt made like those rolex wrist watches (but of course a much stronger- non-rusting metal that has a snug fit, and covered with a soft fabric to avoid chafing and discomfort... you know like a strong yet soft and comfortable fabric to cover it(and is removable). Would probably be the strongest harness I could think of. It wouldn't be like a chain link either so it wouldnt be that uncomfortable if it was bare.
I sadly do not know how to do metal work so I couldn't make that myself. But would be nice.
I have a strong fear of the dog -somehow- wriggling it's way out. She's like a little hoodini... and she bites at her harness sometimes... Which is why I also wanted it to be extra sturdy. I've been leaving the harness on all day and night so she gets used to wearing a harness and collar... but it's not easy..
As for cheese, my moms dog has a sensitive stomach so that might be that... but as embarrassing as it is... cheese gives me a bit of gas as well(depends).. so I thought this was just a normal occurrence for mammals..
She had a mess in her room today... she had just gone out and peed and pooped but 2 hours after she repeated...
Also she's not an enthuastic eater...
