YT 1000 Club Member | Static? Does anyone have issues with Static? I am a total static bomb and everything I touch gets shocked. When I go to the store I get shocked constantly. I went shopping with my daughter yesterday and when we got home she picked up her 10 month old puppy and the puppy licked her on the nose and got shocked! Raksha would not even look at my daughter! I wish I had gotten picture of the face Raksha was making toward her because it was so funny! Raksha was looking at her like "Why would you do that to me when I was so happy to see you? How could you do such a thing to me? What did I do to deserve that?" It was crazy funny and I could not stop laughing. I had to get Raksha from my daughter and cuddle her and tell her it was okay and it was only an accident. I made sure I touched Rowan on his side before I let his face near mine so that it wouldn't happen to us. LOL Any good advice on how to relieve static? I have problems all winter with static.

YT 1000 Club Member | When I brushed Rowan today I could hear the static on the comb I was using as I brushed. It is really bad here right now! I have serious static issues with my hair, it is worse because it is down past my waist, but it is always bad even when it is just midway down my back. I am just a huge static magnet. I feel so bad when I shock the dogs though. Raksha's face though was priceless, I wish I had gotten a video of the way she kept looking at my daughter and me! It was so funny!

| It's so funny how they react to us humans like we are such uncivilized animals how dare we zap them when they're being love bugs lol! My grandma bought fabric and quilt stuffing and made a blankie for Christmas so he does his back scratch on it and I just hear it and feel awful like ugh I just need a cure for this!

| Since you say it's a winter thing, I'm guessing it's the dry air. Do you have a humidifier running? I think that helps some. |

| I spritz Piper with her leave-in conditioner and she sleeps on satin-y like pillowcases. Also, after showering, leave bathroom door open and let that moist air out...'Course, my danged bathroom is always open, cuz Piper, no matter how often I swing door closed, has to swing it open again--so about every 30 seconds I feel the whoosh of cold air as Piper once again comes in to check on my progress or make sure I'm still in there or something! |

| Max sends his sympathy to Raksha. I've given him a few static shocks in the past and he looks at me like, "What did you do that for?!" I have not been shocking yet this winter, but I did notice the boys had static hair in the car yesterday. We usually use Vellus Static Stabilizer or Chris Christensen Ice on Ice to prevent static problems.

|
My Ted is the same way! He lays on the bath mat and waits for me to finish so he can dry my legs! He then angrily scratches the door as if he didn't follow me in here!
Yeesssss! Piper seems to think if she doesn't get every last drop of water off of my ankles, I'll turn into a sea monster--All I know is that she is very vigorous and as I'm trying to get dry, will get in front of towel---because geez, what good is lousy towel going to do when it comes to drying off???!!! |

I just felt so bad for Raksha getting shocked on the tongue like that by her mommy. She was mad at me over it too though. Like "How dare I let my daughter treat her that way!" Her face was just so funny!

| I rarely get static shock in the winter, whereas Walter gets shocked all the time, especially in the grocery store. I think it's the difference in shoe soles. If you can't find a different shoe that works, then I'd recommend discharging the static buildup by touching a metal object before petting the dog. At least that will protect the dog . |

YT 1000 Club Member | It doesn't seem to matter which shoes I wear. I am such a static bomb that even if I did just get shocked I re-shock 2 seconds later. It is crazy. Also, the dogs meet me at the door, so I really don't have time to do much before they are all over me. Luckily I am not the one that got Raksha this time. I have to be careful because if I am staticy and I touch my car I get a whopper of a shock from the car. For a while there was a problem with my battery and wowsers did that hurt when I would get shocked like that. We had to modify the battery cables a bit and now I don't get shocked like I used to. I kept telling my husband something was wrong and there was, really. The battery kept going dead and it was a part covering the battery cables was causing problems so he removed that and now no problems for the last few years with it. I think static just loves me!
