It doesn't seem to matter which shoes I wear. I am such a static bomb that even if I did just get shocked I re-shock 2 seconds later. It is crazy. Also, the dogs meet me at the door, so I really don't have time to do much before they are all over me. Luckily I am not the one that got Raksha this time. I have to be careful because if I am staticy and I touch my car I get a whopper of a shock from the car. For a while there was a problem with my battery and wowsers did that hurt when I would get shocked like that. We had to modify the battery cables a bit and now I don't get shocked like I used to. I kept telling my husband something was wrong and there was, really. The battery kept going dead and it was a part covering the battery cables was causing problems so he removed that and now no problems for the last few years with it.
I think static just loves me!
