| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Depends on the definition of housebroken. When I brought Max home at 13 weeks, he was excellent with the piddle pads. This was with restricted freedom to only parts of the house, with the piddle pad close by. He did not have free run of a 2-story house. If the person means the 10-week old puppy goes only outside, I would be highly skeptical. Nothing is impossible, but its highly doubtful. Yorkies are notoriously difficult to potty train.

| And their house training seems to be a saw tooth style learning....got it one day...opppss, lost it for two days.....got it for a few days....lost it for a few days. But, in Mario's case, most his past abuse seems to have been largely around house training, so maybe he is the exception .

| I would be AMAZED if a 10 week old puppy was 100% pad trained. All my now passed puppies were gotten at 8 weeks old, they were confined to a small area while I was at work. When I would come home the puppy was allowed in rooms where she could easily get to her paper (there was no such thing as pee pads in the late 90's lol). All my puppies were 100% paper (pad) trained at 5 months old that would be appox 20 weeks old. But hey, you may a a Ripley's Believe it or Not, ya never know. Please let us know if your baby is a "Ripley's Believe it or Not".

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmmm. Well, I suppose it's possible...but def not probable. I would find out what the definition of "potty trained" is...

| It seems using "housebroken" is used as a good selling point...but not necessarily true! And by the time we've taken them into our arms, we're in love and committed and who cares about a little thing like whether or not our adorable little pup has an accident or two!!! I go through it (although she's pretty much got it) to this day--and, of course, I still think Piper is just perfect!!! Have so, so much fun with your baby!! |

| Keep in mind that even a well-trained adult Yorkie might experience some setbacks when changing homes and adapting to a new environment. I've read stories here on YT that some "potty trained" pups meant that they were kept in xpens or crates with the entire floor lined with piddle pads. Hard not to miss the target in that case, but not what the average person would consider potty trained.

| My Lacy peed on the kitchen floor all the time when I got her a month ago. And once in her bed. And often on the whelping pad in the bottom of her playpen. Well, I am thrilled to say that she is now 97% potty trained on the UGO. :-) What a smart little girl she is!

| Yeah Emma is housetrained given that when she can't be watched she goes in the crate. Yorkies are so hard to housetrain.

| ekko came to me when he was 9 weeks old... we had 7 month nami who was already potty trained.. and about a week later, he was potty trained. he went to his potty area whenever needed and he had his freedom in the house.. he learned pretty fast from watching nami. he rarely pottied outside though... (still doesn't :/) he'd hold in if we are out and run to the potty pad when home. lol |

| Thank you all for your input. After much deliberation I decided against that particular seller and have found another beautiful baby that I pick up in two days! |
