| My Presley was about 17 1/2. He weighed about 5.5 lbs. He suffered from pancreatitis since the age of 7. We managed it pretty well (with a couple flare ups a year). He lost his vision at 16 and also developed renal disease which we managed for about a year with diet and fluids. He was a tough cookie. I miss him every day.

| Our oldest yorkie in our family was just almost, 15yrs old and was our male. Otherwise it was around 12yrs for our other girl. I can only hope our new yorkie girl whom isn't even a year old yet would live to at least our oldest yorkie.

| I just rescued a 12 year old female Yorkie two days ago. She also had most of her teeth extracted this week because of a previous owner who didn't take care of her. I'm concerned because in the 2 days she's been with me, and the three days at the shelter, she hasn't spoken a word. She just cowers under the blankets. She also doesn't drink water, although she is eating. She doesn't get up, move around, or interact. Is this normal behavior for a senior yorkie in a new situation? If anyone can recommend toys that she might like I'd be so appreciative! Or any advice about anything for that matter!!! Thanks everyone! Judy |

| My matriarch Aija, was just shy of 17 years old....she and my mother were very close, and when mom died, Aija grieved and looked for her around the house for almost 2 years.....she would go into mom's bedroom and back up until she could see up on mom's bed, looking for her....mom had a pair of flats she always wore out in public....Aija would see mom's shoes in her closet, and she would start to look all over the house for mom, because Aija "knew" she was in here someplace since mom's "going" shoes were in the closet.... |

| I just lost my yorkie Layla last year just before her 4th birthday from NME, but my first yorkie (Chloe) lived nearly 17 years. |

YT 1000 Club Member | It is so encouraging to see these since I adopted my Yorkie at 9 years old. He got younger after I adopted him though. I think he has a number of years left. My only regret is that I didn't get him when he was younger. He settled right in with me and his new pampered life of being loved and adored and having a stay at home mommy who loves him.
